Israel forces Palestinian single mother of four to demolish own home in occupied Jerusalem

13 Sep 2022; MEMO: A Palestinian single mother of four was forced by the Israeli occupation forces to demolish her own home yesterday in the neighbourhood of Batn Al-Hawa in Silwan, occupied Jerusalem, Wafa has reported.

The Israeli-controlled municipality in Jerusalem forced Nasreen Abu Tayeh to destroy her house on the pretext that it lacked a building licence.

2 NGOs file complaint against Egypt for crimes against humanity and against France for complicity

13 Sep 2022; MEMO: Two NGOs have brought a case in France against Egyptian officials for crimes against humanity and against French officials for complicity.

The complaint follows an investigation by the NGO Disclose, which last year revealed a systematic bombing campaign against civilians suspected of smuggling in the Western Desert on the border with Libya.

Israel's military escalation in occupied West Bank 'recipe for explosion': PA

13 Sep 2022; MEMO: The prime minister of the Palestinian Authority said on Monday that the Israeli military escalation in the occupied territories "is nothing but a recipe for a major explosion," Wafa has reported. Mohammad Shtayyeh told his weekly cabinet meeting that this has been "fuelled by Israel with its various political parties for their election propaganda."

Israel bans official from Al-Aqsa Mosque to prepare it for settlers

13 Sep 2022; MEMO: The Israeli occupation authorities in occupied Jerusalem have banned a senior official from Al-Aqsa Mosque to make sure that it is empty for settlers to use during religious holidays. The claim was made on Monday by the Deputy Director General of Jerusalem Waqf (Religious Endowment), Sheikh Najeh Bakirat.

India: 16-yr-old Dalit girl gang-raped in UP

Pilibhit, Sep 12 (PTI) Two people were booked for allegedly raping a 16-year-old Dalit girl in a village here, police said.

The incident took place around 4 am on Sunday, they said.

In his police complaint, the minor's father alleged that the accused, who belong to the same village, took his daughter to a field and raped her, Station House Officer (Jahanabad) Prabhas Chandra said.

Palestine: Quick response needed to deal with attacks on Al-Aqsa, scholars say

12 Sep 2022; MEMO: The Palestine Scholars Association said yesterday that increasing plots targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque make it necessary to mobilise support for it.

In the statement, the association stressed on the importance of urgent action to teach the people about the required support and protection of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem and Palestine.

Israel using medical negligence to kill Palestinian prisoners slowly, report says

12 Sep 2022; MEMO: Israel has adopted a policy of medical negligence against Palestinian prisoners and this has led to "slow killing" in Israeli prisons, a new report has said.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club stressing that "73 prisoners have been martyred in the occupation's prisons as a result of the policy of medical neglect (slow killing), since 1967."

In the report, the PPC stated that "crime of medical negligence, or slow killing, along with policy of torture, are the most prominent policies leading to the death of prisoners."

Situation deteriorating in Sudan, UN warns

10 Sep 2022; MEMO: In the absence of effective solutions to restore a "credible democratic transition", the United Nations (UN) warned of the deteriorating situation in Sudan.

In a report, which Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sudan Volker Perthes intends to present before the UN Security Council next week, the UN drew attention to the rise in human rights violations and economic and security deteriorations.
