Nicaragua and China boost bilateral cooperation

MANAGUA, April 16 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The signing of projects between Chinese and Nicaraguan authorities on thermal energy and housing construction boosts bilateral cooperation between China and Nicaragua.    

The Nicaraguan Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Óscar Mojica highlighted the housing program developed by the Sandinista government, in association with the Chinese Agency for International Development Cooperation (CIDCA).

Nicaragua Pres Ortega says North Korea, Iran have right to nukes

MANAGUA, Feb 3 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega ardently defended the right of Iran and North Korea to develop nuclear weapons, saying the United States holds no authority to turn them back.

Ortega made the remarks upon receiving Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

“We don’t love atomic bombs… but what authority (do Western powers have) to want to prohibit Iran if it wants to make atomic bombs?” Ortega asked with the Iranian minister by his side.

Nicaragua keen to export coffee to China

MANAGUA, Dec 11 (NNN-TELESUR) — In the fertile mountains of Nicaragua, thousands of small-scale producers grow and process top-quality artisanal coffee, now with the added incentive of potentially breaking into the Chinese market.

“China is a huge gateway, a good sales opportunity,” said Eduardo Escobar, the executive secretary of the National Commission for the Transformation and Development of Nicaraguan Coffee Farming.
   

Venezuela reaffirms its support and solidarity with Nicaragua

MANAGUA, July 20 (NNN-TELESUR) — Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faría reaffirmed his government’s commitment and solidarity with Nicaragua in a meeting held on Tuesday in Managua with his Nicaraguan counterpart, Denis Moncada.

“We appreciate the reception given to us by the Nicaraguan Foreign Minister, Denis Moncada, whom we greeted on behalf of the President (of Venezuela), Nicolás Maduro. We took advantage of the moment and had a pleasant meeting where we expressed solidarity and mutual support between our peoples,” the minister said through his Twitter account.

Daniel Ortega sworn in for a new term as President of Nicaragua

MANAGUA, Jan 11 (NNN-TELESUR) — The President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Vice President Rosario Murillo Zambrana received the credentials that accredit them in office for the period 2022-2027, before the swearing-in performed by the President of the National Assembly, Gustavo Porra Cortez, who took the promise of the law of both officials.

“Yes, I swear,” answered Ortega, who was sworn in minutes before putting on the presidential sash of the flag of the Republic of Nicaragua.

Luxembourg ends diplomatic mission in Nicaragua

MANAGUA, Jan 6 (NNN-MERCOPRESS) — Luxembourg has announced the withdrawal of its embassy in Managua while diplomatic ties with Nicaragua will be handled by the Embassy in Washington, DC as of Feb 1. Charge d’Affaires Joe Geisbusch will end his mission Jan. 30.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has decided to suspend the activities of the Luxembourg Embassy in Managua as of February 1, 2022,” a statement read.

China reopens its embassy in Nicaragua

MANAGUA, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- China on Friday officially reopened its embassy in Nicaragua after the two countries resumed diplomatic relations on Dec. 10.

The ceremony, held at the new location of the embassy in the capital Managua, was inaugurated by Yu Bo, representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry and Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada.

U.S. heads for record Nicaragua deportations, despite Ortega criticism

Covid-19: Nicaragua to immunize the child population with Cuban vaccines

MANAGUA, Oct 4 (NNN-TELESUR) — Nicaragua’s Vice President Rosario Murillo announced the approval of the emergency use of Cuban-developed vaccines Abdala, Soberana, and Soberana 02 on the child population.

She said that the vaccination day against COVID-19 in children and adolescents from 2 to 17 years old would begin on Oct 20.

The Cuban vaccines Soberana, Soberana 02, and Abdala will be applied to 2,102,366 children voluntarily.
