India: Ex-Minister murder case: Telangana HC directs CBI not to arrest YSRCP MP till April 25

Hyderabad, Apr 18 (PTI) The Telangana High Court on Tuesday directed YSR Congress Party Lok Sabha member Y S Avinash Reddy to appear before the CBI everyday for examination in the case pertaining to the murder of former Andhra Pradesh Minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy, and granted him protection from arrest till April 25.

In an interim order on the anticipatory bail plea of Avinash Reddy, the court asked him to cooperate with the Central agency and appear before it daily till April 25.

Hyderabad, Apr 14 (PTI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge Friday said it was because of his party that a person like him with a humble background could have a long political career and become an MLA and MP.

Kharge, who addressed a 'Jai Bharat Satyagraha Sabha' at Mancherial in Telangana Friday night, said he would not have been a lawmaker had Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi not encouraged a "poor man" like him.

India: Telangana BJP chief granted bail in SSC question paper leak case

Hyderabad, Apr 6 (PTI) A court granted bail to Telangana BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar who was arrested over the alleged leak of secondary school exam papers.

The Principal Judicial Magistrate court in Hanamkonda district granted bail to Kumar on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 20,000 with two sureties.

The Telangana BJP chief was directed not to leave the country without the court's permission. It also asked him not to tamper with the evidence, and cooperate with the investigation.

India: Bharat Jodo Yatra (Unite India Journey) enters 10th day in Telangana

Hyderabad, Nov 5 (PTI) AICC leader Rahul Gandhi will address a massive public meeting on November 7 at Jukkal before entering Maharashtra as Bharat Jodo Yatra is set to finish the Telangana leg on the same day, party sources said.

Senior Congress leaders from the state, including Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Revanth Reddy, paid a visit to the venue on Friday. The Telangana leg of the foot march began on October 24 and will end on November 7 before entering Maharashtra.

Hyderabad, Oct 29 (PTI) The Telangana High Court on Saturday set aside a lower court's order and directed that the accused in the alleged poaching of TRS MLAs to surrender before police.

Meanwhile, another judge of the High Court, on a petition by BJP seeking a CBI probe, posted the matter for November 4 and deferred investigation till then.

Hyderabad, Oct 23 (PTI) BJP leader in Telangana, Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar on Sunday called on TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and expressed his keenness to join the ruling party.

Bhaskar, who had served as Rajya Sabha member between 2012 and 2018 when he was in Congress, met Rao at Pragati Bhavan, the CM's camp office-cum-official residence here, TRS sources said late on Sunday night.

Hyderabad, Oct 22 (PTI) The Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi will enter Gudebellur in Telangana on Sunday morning, after exiting Karnataka from Raichur.

The Telangana leg of the march will begin from Gudebellur in Mahabubnagar district.

India: NDA govt at the Centre hurting federal values, weakening states: KCR

Hyderabad, Aug 15 (PTI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday launched a broadside against the NDA government at the Centre, alleging that it is hurting federal values, weakening the states financially and also centralising powers.

In his Independence Day address after hoisting the national flag at the historic Golconda Fort here, he said the makers of the nation's Constitution put in place a federal structure as they wanted the Centre and states together to lead the march of progress.
