India: Won't give MP funds of my area to PM relief fund

Aurangabad, Mar 31 (PTI) Aurangabad Lok Sabha MP and Maharashtra AIMIM chief Imtiyaz Jaleel on Tuesday said his local area development funds were meant for his constituency and he would not hand it over to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund in view of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

He said there were many problems in his area that need to be tackled and he would use the funds, also called the Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund, for this purpose.

Hyderabad, Mar 30 (PTI) Six people from Telangana who attended a religious congregation in Delhi's Nizamuddin died due to the novel coronavirus, the state government said on Monday.

"Coronavirus has spread among some of those who attended a religious prayer meeting from March 13 to 15 at Markaz in Nizamuddin area in Delhi," according to an official release. "Among those who attended were some persons from Telangana."

Hyderabad, Mar 28 (PTI): Infrastructure major, Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) offered a helping hand to various states in the battle against coronavirus.

MEIL managing director PV Krishna Reddy has donated Rs 5 crore each to the Chief Minister's relief funds of AP and Telangana.

India: Cong asks CM to stop NPR work in Telangana

Hyderabad, Mar 8 (PTI) Congress Telangana unit president and Lok Sabha member N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to stay all activities related to the National Population Register (NPR) in the state on the lines of the Kerala government and some other states.

He welcomed the move by the government to get a resolution adopted in the assembly against the Citizenship Amendment Act, NPR and National Register of Citizens.

India: Two human traffickers held, 14 kids rescued in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Mar 2 (PTI): Police rescued 14 children and arrested two inter-state child traffickers here on Monday for allegedly engaging them as bonded labourers in bangle making units.

Police raided two places andnabbed the duo and rescued the children, most of them below 14 years, police sources said.

Delhi riots "targeted structural violence": Owaisi

Hyderabad, March 1 (PTI) Calling the Delhi riots as "targeted structural violence," AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday said the responsibility lies at the doorstep of the BJP government and appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the affected areas.

India: Man posing as cop rapes woman into illegal gutka trade

Sangareddy (Telangana), Feb 11 (PTI) Two men posing as police personnel checking people carrying gutka, a tobacco product banned in Telangana, detained a woman bus passenger with the item and one of them allegedly raped her, a police official said on Tuesday.

According to Siddeshwar, circle inspector of police, Zaheerabad town, the 32-year-old woman, running a kirana shop in Suryapet district of Telangana and carrying the gutka, was returning to the state from neighbouring Bidar district of Karnataka by bus.
