President Joe Biden grants immunity to Saudi's MBS over Khashoggi killing

18 Nov 2022; MEMO: The US has granted Saudi's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman sovereign immunity in a lawsuit over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The decision means that despite the near certainty of the US intelligence community that the 37-year-old authorised the brutal murder of Khashoggi in 2018, any prospect for holding the crown prince legally accountable for the killing is blocked.

Israel bans Palestinians from entering Ibrahimi Mosque in occupied city of Hebron

18 Nov 2022; MEMO: Israeli occupation authorities have banned Palestinians from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied city of Hebron, the Palestinian Ministry of Endowment announced yesterday.

"The occupation authorities will close the Ibrahimi Mosque, starting Friday afternoon until Saturday evening," the ministry said in a statement, noting that the move had come under the pretext of "celebrating the Jewish Sabbath holiday."

Twitter suspends Palestine Online account

17 Nov 2022; MEMO: Social media platform Twitter has suspended the Palestine Online account, one of the most influential Palestinian news outlets. The account which had over 80,000 followers was suspended for violating Twitter rules yesterday, although no explicit reason has been given.

The account routinely shared on the ground news from occupied Palestine and had built a reputation for exposing on-going Israeli crimes against Palestinians. 

UK university excludes Palestinian staff and Palestine scholars from IHRA discussion

16 Nov 2022; MEMO: The University of Edinburgh has excluded Palestinian staff and scholars of Palestine from a task group set up to discuss the "vicious repercussions" of the highly controversial International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism. Details of the marginalisation of Palestinian voices at the Scottish university was reported by senior lecturer in international relations Nicola Perugini.

UN calls for probe into killing of Palestine teen girl by Israeli security forces

The United Nations coordinator for the Middle East peace process, Tor Wennesland, yesterday called for an "immediate and comprehensive investigation" into a recent Israeli killing to a teenage Palestinian girl, Fulla Masalmeh.

"Appalled by the tragic killing of a 15-year old Palestinian girl, Folah Al-Masalmah, by Israeli security forces during a raid this morning near Ramallah. My heartfelt condolences to her family & loved ones," he wrote on Twitter.

Abu Akleh was shot and killed by an Israeli sniper as she covered a military incursion into the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on 11 May.

US instructors trained perpetrator of terrorist attack in Istanbul — newspaper

ANKARA, November 15. /TASS/. Syrian citizen Ahlam Albashir, who carried out a terrorist attack on Istanbul's Istiklal Street on November 13, had been trained by US instructors, the Yeni Safak newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing the police investigating the incident.

According to the newspaper, a Syrian branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), banned in Turkey, ordered the attack.
