Egypt: Engineer Essam Kamal forcibly disappeared for six years

28 Nov 2022; MEMO: For the sixth year, engineer Essam Kamal has been forcibly disappeared following his arrest in 2016 from 6th October City, 20 miles outside the Egyptian capital.

According to the Egyptian Network for Human Rights one year after security forces arrested Essam, he was accused of being among a group of people who attempted to assassinate the public prosecutor.

In 2015, Egypt's public prosecutor died after a bomb hit his convoy in Cairo.

Israel's Ben-Gvir, in leaked audio, cautious on far-right agenda in government

27 Nov 2022; MEMO: A far-rightist on track to take a key post in Israel's incoming government has warned supporters not to try to move too quickly with his agenda, cautioning in a recording leaked on Sunday that some planned legislation could backfire against them, Reuters reports.

Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu last week promised Jewish Power leader Itamar Ben-Gvir a post as security minister with expanded powers over police in Israel and the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

Israel's designate Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has been accused of breaking his agreement with Arab countries that normalised relation with the Occupation State during the current coalition negotiations. The Likud leader is reported to have agreed to move the civil administration in the West Bank from Israeli Ministry of Defence to the Ministry of Finance to appease far-right member of the Knesset, Bezalel Smotrich.

UK Court acquits five pro-Palestine activists for direct action against Israel arms manufacturer

24 Nov 2022; MEMO: Five pro-Palestine activists have been acquitted of the charge of "conspiracy to commit criminal damage" after a unanimous jury verdict in Southwark Crown Court in London. The defendants, who pleaded "not guilty" prior to the hearing, had to wait two years to be heard. They were acquitted of conspiracy to commit criminal damage for throwing red paint over the London HQ of an Israeli arms manufacturer.

Israeli Settlers block roads in occupied West Bank

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: Israeli settlers blocked roads to Palestinian vehicles in the northern occupied West Bank today, Anadolu has reported. Eyewitnesses said that settlers also threw stones at vehicles in the wake of two explosions in West Jerusalem, in which one Israeli was killed and 14 others were wounded.

Roads were blocked in Hawara and Yitzhar, south of Nablus, and Deir Sharaf, west of the city. Tyres were set on fire.

Israel to use Palestinian land seized in 1984 for illegal settlement outpost

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: The Israeli Civil Administration issued permission on Wednesday for 80 acres of Palestinian land in the central occupied West Bank seized in 1984 to be annexed to the illegal Tal Shahrit settlement outpost, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has revealed. The administration has declared the area to be "state land" in a move which effectively grants legal recognition to the outpost by the occupation state.

Israeli soldier shoots dead 16-year-old Palestinian child in Occupied West Bank

23 Nov 2022; MEMO: A 16-year-old Palestinian child was shot and killed by an Israeli soldier last night, in the Occupied West Bank city of Nablus, reported Wafa news agency.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Ahmed Shehada was killed following an Israeli military raid that resulted in him being shot in the heart.
