PA wants the world to deal with Israel as an 'apartheid regime'

05 Dec 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian Authority (PA) has asked the international community to deal with the Israeli occupation state as an "apartheid regime", Wafa news agency reported yesterday.

In a statement, the PA's Foreign Ministry said: "The occupying state is not only perpetuating the occupation, but is also aspiring to annex more areas of the occupied West Bank through a long series of expansionist colonial measures and statements by far-right leaders."

EU: Borrell condemns point-blank killing of Palestinian by Israeli soldier in occupied West Bank

04 Dec 2022; MEMO: EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has condemned the shooting of a young Palestinian by an Israeli soldier in the occupied West Bank, reports Anadolu Agency.

On Friday, Palestinian activists shared a video on social media of an Israeli soldier while scuffling with a young man in Huwara town, south of Nablus city.

As the young man, who was identified as Ammar Mefleh, tried to escape, the Israeli soldier shot him at point blank, leaving him badly injured. The Palestinian was later pronounced dead.

Israel army bombs Gaza

04 Dec 2022; MEMO: The Israeli army bombed two sites Sunday belonging to the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip with no casualties reported, according to an Israeli official, reports Anadolu Agency.

"The warplanes attacked a weapons workshop, which is a significant center where rockets belonging to the Hamas are produced," Army spokesman Avichay Adraee wrote on Twitter.

Warplanes also targeted a tunnel belonging to Hamas in southern Gaza, said Adraee.

India: Govt school teacher suspended in MP for taking part in Bharat Jodo Yatra (Unite India Journey)

Barwani (MP), Dec 3 (PTI) A government school teacher has been suspended for attending the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra in Madhya Pradesh's Barwani district, an official said on Saturday.

Rajesh Kannoje, a teacher with a primary school under the state's Tribal Affairs Department in Kanasya, was suspended on November 25, a day after he took part in the yatra. The issue came to light after his suspension order surfaced on social media.

Israel settlers steal bee hives, olive harvesting equipment in Palestine village

02 Dec 2022; MEMO: A group of Israeli settlers stole dozens of honey bee hives and olive harvesting equipment from Palestinian farms in the Occupied West Bank village of Deir Sharaf, based in Nablus, reported Wafa news agency.

According to Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israeli settlement activities in the Nablus district, the settlers sneaked their way into a farm belonging to Aziz Antari, a local villager and stole 30 honey bee hives and olive picking equipment.

Israel declares occupied Hebron 'closed military zone' to prevent human rights organisations tour

03 Dec 2022; MEMO: The Israeli occupation army on Friday declared the city of Hebron a "closed military zone" to prevent a tour organised by human rights organisations with the participation of hundreds of activists in the city. This came a week after the occupation soldiers in the city attacked Israeli activists who showed solidarity with the city's residents against settler attacks.

Israel: Netanyahu reaches coalition deal with far-right religious Zionism party

01 Dec 2022; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister-designate, Benjamin Netanyahu, reached a coalition deal with the far-right Religious Zionism party, bringing him closer to securing a new government after an election last month, Netanyahu's Likud party said on Thursday, Reuters reports.

Religious Zionism will be given, among other portfolios, control of the Finance Ministry as part of a rotation, Likud said, though it did not provide details on how the rotation would work.
