India: Teachers write questions on blackboard at Basic Shiksha Parishad exams

Kanpur:  It remains a glaring example of neglect as the examinations of the Council schools are taking place amid a shortage of the question papers.

It is to be noted here that the Basic Siksha Parishad exams of classes from 1 to VIII are being conducted in Kanpur Dehat district these days.

The height of negligence remained so much that the two examinees were given one question paper.

Another startling spectacle was that the teacher wrote down questions on the blackboards at the school in Derapur Block of Kanpur Dehat district.

Kanpur: There are no ministers from Kanpur Nagar district while Kanpur Dehat has got as many as three ministers. This has caused an atmosphere of enthusiasm among the party supporters.

India: Adityanath meets Guv to stake claim to form govt in UP

Lucknow, Mar 24 (PTI) After being elected leader of BJP legislature party, Yogi Adityanath on Thursday met Governor Anandiben Patel to stake claim to form government in Uttar Pradesh.

After dropping Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the airport, Adityanath went to the Raj Bhawan to meet the governor.

Earlier, an NDA delegation met the governor and handed over letters of support for forming government in the state following the conclusion of the legislature party meeting.

India: Polluted water falling into Ganga directly, officials monitor

Kanpur: Owing to the grave negligence of the municipal corporation, Jalkal, Jal Sansthan and Pollution Control Board, the Namami Gangey Project to make Ganga pure seems to be sabotaged here.

Drains in Sisamau, Parmat, Baba Ghat, Guptar Ghat, Paramiya Purwa and Nawabganj areas were shut down by spending a whopping Rs 63 crore way back in the year of 2018.

Recently, the Sisamau drain, was tracked and monitored by officials. They found that water from the drain was still being dumped into the Ganga.

India sees 19 per cent rise in Tuberculosis (TB) cases in 2021

New Delhi, Mar 24 (PTI) The number of tuberculosis cases in India has seen a 19 per cent rise in 2021 over the previous year, according to the annual TB report released by Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday.

The total number of new and relapsed TB patients notified in India during 2021 were 19,33,381 as against 16,28,161 in 2020, the report showed.

India: Petrol, diesel prices hiked by 80 paise a litre, 3rd increase in 4 days

New Delhi, Mar 25 (PTI) Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 80 paise a litre each on Friday, the third increase in four days as oil firms recoup losses from holding rates during the period prior to the recently-concluded assembly elections.

Petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs 97.81 per litre as against Rs 97.01 previously while diesel rates have gone up from Rs 88.27 per litre to Rs 89.07, according to a price notification of state fuel retailers.

India: Man tied to tree, wife gang raped in UP's Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Mar 25 (PTI) A group of people allegedly tied a man to a tree and raped his wife in this district, police said on Friday.

The incident took place on Wednesday night when the couple was returning to their village, they said.

According to the complaint lodged by the survivor's family, the man was walking back home from his in-laws' house with his wife when 10 people intercepted them.
