India: There is salt in the air of Jajmau, said tallboy

Kanpur: "There is salt in the air of Jajmau", said the tall boy who brought two young mechanics for repairing the AC set at his relative's house residing in the same area here on Friday.

It is a good line indeed, said the person who heard him initially. Upon this reaction there came the laughter too.

Why did he say so? Because the main pollutant has been recorded at PM 2.5 while the air quality index remains very poor at 180 today according to the Friday's weather reports.

Airborne salinity refers to the content of gaseous and suspended salt in the atmosphere.

It is measured by the concentration in the air in units of µg/m3.

Since it is the salt that is deposited on the metal surface that affects the corrosion, it is often measured in terms of deposition rate in units of mg/m2/day.

The tall boy also told that Jajmau being a Tannery Town remains to suffer from poor air. That's why the AC sets get into the grip of the technical fault of gas leakage. This remains as the common complication in this kind of set, he pointed.

He even suggested the servicing men to handle the machine carefully as it is a new set.

Since his birth the tallboy has been living in Jajmau, so he is well acquainted with the problems of the area.

Even the relatively understands the air quality prevailing in the atmosphere of Jajmau.
