India: Kanpur political gazers argue lack of its legislature in UP ministry

Kanpur: The new cabinet sparks a barrage of discussions among the politicians here. But the latest news said of Satish Mahana to be seated on Speaker's seat.

Not a single minister from Kanpur has been included in the UP cabinet for the first time.

Satish Mahana, former Cabinet minister and eight-time MLA, was almost certain to be chosen as a minister. But he was dropped from Cabinet.

In the last state government, as many as four MLAs from Kanpur were made ministers in the cabinet.

During the tenure of CM Kalyan Singh, Premlata Katiyar and Bal Chandra Mishra from Kanpur had been take into the state Cabinet.

The BJP government was formed for the first time in UP on June 24, 1991.

Notwithstanding, three MLAs from Kanpur Dehat included Rakesh Sachan from Bhognipur, Ajit Pal from Sikandra and Pratibha Shukla from Akbarpur.
