UAE condemns Israeli settlement plan for occupied West Bank

27 Mar 2023; MEMO: The UAE strongly condemned on Sunday Israel's decision to allow Jewish settlers to go back to illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank from which they had been removed under the 2005 "disengagement law". Amendments to the law have been passed by the Israeli parliament, the Knesset.

Israel besieges Nablus, MK calls for Huwara to be 'tightly closed'

27 Mar 2023; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces have enforced a complete siege on the city of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank, after an attack on soldiers stationed at a checkpoint in the town of Huwara, south of the city.

On Saturday evening, Israeli occupation forces closed all entrances to Nablus and prevented entry and exit from the city under the pretext of searching for the perpetrators of the attack.

Ankara denounced the desecration of the Quran and the Turkish flag in Denmark, the second such instance in the country this year.

The incident, late Friday, was a hate crime, the Foreign Ministry said, stressing that Turkiye will never accept such "vile actions being allowed under the guise of freedom of expression".

Jordan condemns new Israeli settlement plans in occupied East Jerusalem

26 Mar 2023; MEMO: Jordan on Saturday decried new Israeli settlement plans in occupied East Jerusalem as a violation of international law, Anadolu reports.

On Friday, Israel issued tenders for the construction of 1,029 units in the settlements of Efrat and Beita Illit in East Jerusalem, according to Peace Now, an Israeli anti-settlements watchdog.

Israel will not become Netanyahu's property: Lieberman

24 Mar 2023; MEMO: Israel will not become the property of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's family, former finance minister, and the leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party, Avigdor Lieberman, said yesterday.

Lieberman was quoted by the local media as saying that his bloc would submit a petition to the Israeli Supreme Court to invalidate a new law passed yesterday which prevents the attorney general from declaring a prime minister unfit for office.

24 Mar 2023; MEMO: Hundreds of people gathered outside Downing Street today in the British capital, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met his British counterpart Rishi Sunak.

The protest was called for by the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB), Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), Stop the War Coalition, Friends of Al-Aqsa, Muslim Association of Britain (MAB).
