Al-Aqsa Mosque is open for Muslim worshippers 24/7, insists Endowment Council

06 Apr 2023; MEMO: The Jerusalem Religious Endowment (Awqaf) Council insisted on Wednesday that Al-Aqsa Mosque is open 24 hours a day, every day, for Muslim worshippers. The council is under the authority of the Jordanian government. It called for Muslims to visit and perform prayers in Al-Aqsa as much as possible.

06 Apr 2023; MEMO: The Government of the Republic of South Africa has "noted with concern" the Israeli occupation forces' assault on Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem. In a media statement issued by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, the government in Pretoria said that it "condemns these violent acts by the Israeli government against the worshippers and calls for calm and the withdrawal of the forces from Al-Aqsa Mosque."

05 Apr 2023; MEMO: Pakistan and Indonesia, on Wednesday, strongly condemned an Israeli police raid on Palestinian worshippers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied East Jerusalem, which resulted in injuries and large-scale arrests, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement blamed "impunity granted to Israel", which has "emboldened Tel Aviv to violate basic human rights with abandon."

In a statement issued following an emergency meeting in Cairo, the Arab League condemned Israeli assaults against worshipers inside Al-Aqsa complex.

Germany: Significant number of police prejudiced against Muslims: Study

04 Apr 2023; MEMO: Interim results of a long-awaited, comprehensive study on attitudes of police officers in Germany show that a significant slice of police officers are prejudiced against Muslims, Anadolu News Agency reports.

According to the interim results released Tuesday, 18 per cent of German police officers said they feel as if Germany is being "overrun" by foreigners.
