Hamas Haniyeh says 3 variables resolve conflict in favour of Palestinians

13 Apr 2023; MEMO: Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said the Palestinian Resistance monitors three important variables which indicate that the conflict with Israel will be resolved in favour of the Palestinian people.

Haniyeh made the remarks during the commemoration of the International Al-Quds Day in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Turkey: Parliament speaker calls for holding Israel responsible for 'war crimes'

11 Apr 2023; MEMO: Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop called for pushing the international community to hold Israel responsible for the "war crimes" and "violations of international law" that it committed against Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Mosque

Sentop's remarks came during a videoconference held yesterday for the Union of Parliaments of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss the Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the Muslim holy site.

Palestine: Jewish settlers block entrances to Ramallah and Bireh in occupied West Bank

11 Apr 2023; MEMO: Israeli Jewish settlers blocked the main entrance to the cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh at the Beit El military checkpoint in the central West Bank on Monday evening, eyewitnesses have reported. The settlers threw rocks at passing Palestinian vehicles, resulting in a number being damaged.

UK lawmakers call on US to halt Assange's extradition process

11 Apr 2023; MEMO: Dozens of parliamentarians from six parties as well as independent MPs and Lords in the UK have called on the US Attorney-General to drop extradition proceedings against WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, Anadolu News Agency reports.

On the fourth anniversary of Julian Assange's imprisonment, 23 British MPs and 14 Lords, wrote a letter on Tuesday, demanding Merrick Garland to close Assange's extradition process.

Islamic-Christian Committee calls for holding Israel accountable for its crimes

10 Apr 2023; MEMO: The Islamic-Christian Committee in Support of Jerusalem and its Sanctuaries yesterday called on the international signatories to the Fourth Geneva Conventions of 1949 and The Hague Conventions of 1954 "to assume their obligations in holding the Israeli authorities accountable for continuing their crimes against Al-Aqsa Mosque and all Islamic and Christian religious places.

Palestine: Over 1,500 Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque compound

10 Apr 2023; MEMO: More than 1,500 Israeli settlers on Monday forced their way into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem during the Jewish holiday of Passover.

In a statement, the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said that 1,532 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque today.

It said that the settlers stormed the compound in 21 groups escorted by the Israeli police.

Israel: Gov't, opposition hold talks on judicial overhaul

11 Apr 2023; MEMO: Israeli President Isaac Herzog yesterday hosted talks between the coalition government and the opposition over the planned judicial overhaul, Anadolu reported.

"The discussion dealt with building the framework for the continuation of the negotiations after Passover, when the parties will meet to discuss the essential issues […] with the aim of trying to reach agreements," Herzog's office said in a statement.

Chile, Argentina, Cuba slam Israel attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque

11 Apr 2023; MEMO: Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Cuba condemned the Israeli aggression on Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, stressing that Israel must avoid escalating violence.

In a statement reported by Quds Press, Argentina said: "Holy places in Jerusalem are designated for safe and peaceful prayers," calling for Israel to "respect the historical and religious status quo in this holy site."
