Greek government admits opposition's claim of spyware export to Sudan

20 Apr 2023; MEMO: The Greek government, on Wednesday, morning admitted the opposition's claim that Israeli-made Predator spyware was exported to Sudan via Greece, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Speaking to major national radio station, REAL FM, Deputy Foreign Minister, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis said: "The license to export Predator to Sudan was given but this has nothing to with the civil war there."

Israel to impose 3-day lockdown on Palestinian Territories next week

19 Apr 2023; MEMO: Israel will impose a 3-day lockdown on the Palestinian Territories as of April 24 for the upcoming Memorial Day and Independence Day celebrations, Anadolu News Agency reports.

The closure is set to begin on Monday, 24 April, at 5 p.m., and last until Wednesday, 26 April, at 11:59 p.m.

A military statement said border crossings with the Gaza Strip will also be closed.

Israel settlers demolish five Palestine shops in Hebron Old City

20 Apr 2023; MEMO: Israeli occupation settlers demolished, on Wednesday, five Palestinian shops in the Old City of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, Wafa news agency reported.

The demolition, witnesses said, was carried out with full protection of the Israeli Occupation Forces.

Director of Hebron Reconstruction Committee, Imad Hamdan, said that the five shops are located in the market area of the old city.

Calls for world churches to support Palestinian Christians

20 Apr 2023; MEMO: The Higher Presidential Committee of Church Affairs in Palestine yesterday called on world churches to support Palestinian Christians.

In a letter, the head of the committee, Ramzi Khoury, raised an alert regarding the danger facing Palestinian Christians, urging world churches to help and support the Christian presence in Palestine.

Israel shoots Palestinian woman in occupied West Bank

18 Apr 2023; MEMO: Israeli occupation soldiers yesterday shot a Palestinian woman in the southern West Bank, claiming she had carried out a stabbing attack during which she injured an Israeli citizen.

The army posted on Twitter that the Palestinian woman had stabbed an illegal Israeli settler near the illegal Gush Etzion settlement in occupied Hebron, adding that the settler was taken to a hospital to receive medical treatment.

Tunisia's Ennahda Party leader Ghannouchi arrested by security forces for interrogation

17 Apr 2023; MEMO: Tunisian security forces late Monday arrested Ennahda Party leader Rached Ghannouchi and took him in for interrogation at a National Guard building in the capital Tunis.

In a statement on Facebook, senior Ennahda Party official and former Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem said that security forces raided Ghannouchi's home and took him to the El-Aouina National Guard base, in northern Tunis.

Tunisian authorities have yet to comment on the arrest.

India: Two weeks before killing, Atiq moved SC for protection in UP police custody

New Delhi, Apr 16 (PTI) Two weeks before gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad was shot dead while under police escort in Prayagraj, the Supreme Court had dismissed his plea seeking protection during his custody with the Uttar Pradesh Police in the Umesh Pal murder case.

Ahmad (60) and his brother Ashraf were shot dead at point-blank range by three men posing as journalists in the middle of a media interaction on Saturday night while police personnel were escorting them to a medical college for a checkup.

Israeli police restrict Christian participation in Holy Fire ritual in Jerusalem

16 Apr 2023; MEMO: Israeli security forces on Saturday attacked Orthodox Christians who wanted to attend the Holy Fire ceremony at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the occupied East Jerusalem, Anadolu reports.

Orthodox Christians gathered in the Christian Quarters of Jerusalem's Old City carrying candles, wooden crosses and symbolic swords in their hands, according to an Anadolu reporter.
