Arab MK urges Arabs serving in Israel forces to quit

12 April 2022; MEMO: The head of the Joint List in the Israeli parliament urged all Arab citizens of Israel serving in Israel's occupation forces to quit, slamming their service as "humiliating" and a "disgrace".

"It's a disgrace that a young Arab or the parents of a young Arab would agree to enlist and serve in the security forces, which are actually forces of the occupation," said Knesset member Ayman Odeh in a video filmed at occupied East Jerusalem's Damascus Gate.

Palestine rejects Israeli court decision on tax deductions

11 April 2022; MEMO: The Palestinian government, on Monday, rejected an Israeli judicial decision to allow a deduction from Palestinian taxes in compensation to Israelis affected by attacks, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Speaking at a weekly Cabinet meeting in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Shtayyeh, termed the Israeli decision as "illegal" and "illegitimate".

India: BJP student wing ABVP alleged to create violence in JNU over non-veg food

New Delhi, Apr 10 (PTI) Two groups of students clashed at the Kaveri hostel in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) here on Sunday, police said.

While the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) alleged that the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members stopped students from eating non-vegetarian food in the hostel and "created a violent atmosphere", the ABVP denied the charge and claimed that "'Leftists" obstructed a puja programme organised at the hostel on Ram Navami festival.

Palestine: Our confrontation of the occupation will not end until we obtain our rights

11 April 2022; MEMO: The Palestinians' confrontation of the Israeli occupation will not end until they achieve their legitimate rights and an independent state, a presidential statement said yesterday.

"The confrontation with the occupation is not over yet, and it will not end without our people obtaining their legitimate rights in their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital," presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said in the statement.

EU slams Israel's killing of Palestinian woman in Bethlehem

11 April 2022; MEMO: The European Union yesterday expressed its shock after Israeli occupation forces shot dead a Palestinian woman near the occupied city of Bethlehem.

The EU said in a statement that it was "horrified" by Israeli act, sending it's "deepest condolences" to the deceased's family.
