Delhi health min admitted to hospital after high-grade fever

New Delhi, Jun 16 (PTI) Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Tuesday said that he has been hospitalised after suffering from high-grade fever and a sudden drop in his oxygen level.

He tweeted to inform that he was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH) here, a dedicated COVID-19 facility under the Delhi government.

"Due to high grade fever and a sudden drop of my oxygen levels last night I have been admitted to RGSSH. Will keep everyone updated," Jain tweeted.

India: US Ambassador hands over first batch of donated ventilators

New Delhi, Jun 16 (PTI) US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster on Tuesday handed over the first tranche of 100 ventilators to India to assist in the country's fight against COVID-19, the Indian Red Cross Society said.

President Donald Trump had announced in May that the US will donate ventilators to India to treat COVID-19 patients and help it fight the "invisible enemy".

India: Gross tax collection falls 31 pc so far in June quarter

Mumbai, Jun 16 (PTI) Gross tax collection fell 31 per cent till June 15 of the current fiscal, with advance corporate tax mop-up declining 79 per cent, an official said on Tuesday.

Earlier, PTI erroneously reported that there was a 31 per cent decline in gross advance tax collection in the June quarter.

"Gross direct tax collection fell a full 31 per cent to Rs 1,37,825 crore in the first quarter of FY21, down from Rs 1,99,755 crore in the June 2019 quarter," an income tax official told PTI.

India: 3.75 lakh migrant workers have returned to Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jun 16 (PTI) Nearly 3.75 lakh migrant workers and others from Chhattisgarh, who were stranded in various parts of the country due to the lockdown, have returned to their home state so far, a government official said on Tuesday.

Of these, 1,06,928 migrant workers returned by 78 Shramik Special trains, the others returned by various other modes of transport and some even walked back home, he said.

The first Shramik Special train arrived in the state on May 10.

India: AP govt presents Rs 2.24 lakh cr budget for FY 2020-21

Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath presented the Budget estimates in the Legislative Assembly on the first day of the brief budget session.

India: Rajasthan MLAs to stay put at hotel till RS election

Jaipur, Jun 15 (PTI) Congress general secretary Avinash Pande said on Monday that the legislators who are supporting the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan would continue to stay together at a hotel till the Rajya Sabha election due to the alleged poaching threat from the BJP.

Pande said the legislators had been staying like a family, adding that discussions on the future roadmap for the development of the state were being held at the hotel.

India: Aftershocks rattle Kutch in Guj post earthquake

Ahmedabad, Jun 15 (PTI) As many as 14 aftershocks were experienced in Gujarat's Kutch district, a day after an earthquake of 5.3 magnitude hit the area, officials said on Monday.

No casualty or damage to property was reported, they said.

On Sunday night, an earthquake was recorded with its epicentre 10 km North-North East (NNE) of Bhachau in Kutch.
