India: Married woman raped by paddy trader in UP's Bhadohi

Bhadohi (UP), Mar 5 (PTI) A 30-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by a paddy trader when she had gone to receive the payment of the produce sold by her husband in a village in Aurai area here, police said on Friday.

The accused is missing and efforts are underway to catch hold of him, the police added.

Indian killed in firing by Nepal Police

Pilibhit (UP), Mar 5 (PTI) A young man was killed after the Nepalese Police allegedly fired at three Indians who had gone across the border from Pilibhit district.

Pilibhit SP Jai Prakash Yadav said the incident took place on Thursday evening at the Belori market in Nepal's Kanchanpur where Bhumidan Raghavpuri Tilla Chaar village residents Govinda Singh, Gurmeet Singh and Pappu Singh had gone to a fair.

India: Rape victim set on fire in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh

Jaipur, Mar 5 (PTI) A 33-year-old rape victim was set on fire at her home in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district, police said on Friday.

The woman has been admitted to a hospital in Bikaner with serious burn injuries, Golupura Station House Officer (SHO) Omprakash said, adding that rape accused Pradeep Vishnoi has been detained for questioning.

The incident took place in the early hours on Thursday. The woman was allegedly raped by Vishnoi in 2018 and the trial in the case is currently on.

India: Woman cop molested, attacked in moving bus in Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 5 (PTI) A 25-year-old woman constable of the Delhi Police was allegedly molested and attacked by a man in a moving bus in Dwarka area, officials said on Friday.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon when the constable, posted with the PCR unit, was on her way to work, they said.

The accused boarded the cluster bus with the constable and stood behind her. Later, he touched her inappropriately. When the constable objected and shouted at the accused, he hit her with a helmet, a senior police officer said.

The six ministers of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa-led government who moved the court Friday include Labour Minister Shivaram Hebbar, Agriculture Minister B C Patil, Cooperative Minister S T Somashekar and Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar.

India: Woman sexually harassed in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Mar 6 (PTI) A 28-year-old woman was allegedly sexually harassed by a man in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said on Saturday.

SHO Shyambir Singh said the incident took place on Friday when the woman was alone at her house.

Rajbir entered her house and sexually harassed her, the SHO said.

Pune, Mar 6 (PTI) A case has been registered against Hindutva leader Milind Ekbote, prime accused in the Bhima- Koregaon violence case, for allegedly promoting enmity between groups through his remarks made recently, a Pune police official said on Saturday.

Satish Kale, a leader of Maratha Seva Sangh, Sambhaji Brigade, lodged a complaint against him at Kondhwa police station in Pune city.

Indian farmers mark 100th day of protest with road blockade

NEW DELHI (AP) — Thousands of Indian farmers blocked a massive expressway on the edges of New Delhi on Saturday to mark the 100th day of protests against agricultural laws they say will devastate their income.

Farmers stood on tractors and waved colorful flags while their leaders chanted slogans via a loudspeaker atop a makeshift stage.
