Jordan, Morocco Vowed To Boost Ties, Facilitate Border Entry Procedures

AMMAN, Sept 6 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, yesterday met with visiting Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, in Amman, on ways to advance bilateral relations as well as, regional and international developments.

At a joint press conference after the meeting, Safadi said, the two sides are keen to bolster cooperation in various fields, especially in the private sector. He added that, they also discussed ways to facilitate the issuance of visas and entry procedures for citizens of the two countries.

Jordanian King Stressed Support For Iraq’s Unity, Stability

AMMAN, Aug 31 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordanian King, Abdullah II, yesterday stressed his country’s full support for Iraq’s efforts to maintain its unity and stability.

He made the remarks during two separate phone calls with Iraqi President, Barham Salih and Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, according to a statement issued by the Royal Hashemite Court.

The king said, Iraq’s security was an essential part of the region’s stability and security.

Jordan: ex-minister calls on Palestinians not to use Israeli airport

Jordan, Bahrain Vowed To Expand Cooperation In Various Fields

AMMAN, Aug 17 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, and his visiting Bahraini counterpart, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, yesterday, vowed to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, according to a Jordanian Foreign Ministry statement.

The two ministers also agreed to enhance coordinating efforts, in resolving regional crises, active pan-Arab action and counter-terrorism.

Safadi highlighted the two-state solution as the only way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, saying, any other proposals are “pointless and in vain.”

Jordan Signed Deals To Launch 5G Services

AMMAN, Aug 12 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), yesterday, signed deals with two telecom operators, to introduce 5G services in the kingdom, according to a TRC statement.

While calling the telecommunications industry a significant contributor to Jordan’s economic growth, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmad Hanandeh, said at the signing ceremony that, incentives were provided for the operators to facilitate the introduction of the 5G services.

Jordan, Yemen Signed MoU To Boost Ties

AMMAN, Aug 9 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan and Yemen, yesterday, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), to strengthen bilateral relations and set a political consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries.

Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, met with his visiting Yemeni counterpart, Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, in Amman, reviewing efforts to end the Yemeni crisis and restore security and stability in Yemen, according to a statement from the Jordanian ministry.

Jordan King to Israel PM: Palestinians must join regional projects

27 July 2022; MEMO: Jordan's King told Israel's visiting Prime Minister on Wednesday that Palestinians should be part of US-sponsored regional economic projects to underpin stability in the Middle East, Reuters reports.

Jordanian officials say Amman has been pushing Israel to include the Palestinians in water-for-energy deals that both countries are considering and which Gulf Arab countries could help finance.

Jordan will maintain links with Russia and Syria regarding border threats, says king

21 July 2022; MEMO: Jordan's King Abdullah II reiterated on Wednesday that the Hashemite Kingdom will maintain its links with Russia and Syria regarding border threats, Anadolu has reported. He did not give any further details.

The Jordanian monarch made his comment during a meeting with tribal leaders and representatives of local communities in the north of the country, explained the Royal Court.

Jordan says never regards Iran as 'national threat'

11 July 2022; MEMO: Jordan said it has never considered Iran a threat to its national security.

"We have never looked at Iran as a source of threats to our national security," Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh told the BBC in an interview.

The premier said Amman is seeking to establish good relations with Tehran. "Jordan has substantial reservations about the way Iran is dealing with some regional files," he added.

Jordan club pulls out of UAE championship over Israel participation

07 July 2022; MEMO: Jordan's Wihdat sports club said yesterday it would not participate in an international handball competition in the United Arab Emirates because of the participation of an Israeli team.

The competition is slated to be held 18-28 July in the UAE's Al-Ain, with Arab, Asian and African handball clubs taking part.

"Officially, the Wihdat club announces that will not participate in the Al-Ain handball championship,  #no_normalization," the club said on Twitter.
