25 April 2022; MEMO: Jordan's King Abdullah agreed with US President Joe Biden on the need to prevent a repeat of recent confrontations in Jerusalem's Muslim holy sites that sparked concerns of wider conflict, state media said, and Reuters reports.

In a phone call on Monday, Abdullah was quoted as saying the cornerstone of peace was a comprehensive Arab Israeli settlement based on a two-state solution whereby a Palestinian State would emerge alongside Israel.

Arab League urges Israel to stop Jewish prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque

AMMAN, April 21 (Reuters) - The Arab League called on Israel on Thursday to end Jewish prayers inside the compound of Islam's third holiest shrine in East Jerusalem, warning it was a flagrant affront to Muslim feelings that could trigger wider conflict.

They said while Israel was restricting the right of worship of Muslims in Jerusalem's Old City, ultra-nationalist Jews under police protection were being allowed at the height of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan to enter the Al-Aqsa mosque compound.

US delegation in Jordan, discuss de-escalation in Jerusalem

Jordan’s King Has Successful Back Surgery In Germany

AMMAN, Apr 13 (NNN-PETRA) – King Abdullah II of Jordan, yesterday had a successful surgery on a thoracic herniated disc, in Germany, the Royal Hashemite Court said, in a statement.

The surgery took place at a specialist hospital in Frankfurt, and the king would follow a period of rest before his return to Jordan, the statement said.

AMMAN, April 9 (Reuters) - Jordan's King Abdullah will go to Germany on Sunday to undergo urgent surgery for a slipped disc in the back, the royal palace said.

A palace statement said the operation in a specialist hospital in Frankfurt will require a week of rest before the monarch can return to Jordan.
