India: Driver saves himself by jumping out of burning school van in Kakadev

Kanpur: A major accident was avoided in the Kakadev police station area today. A fire broke out in a school van. The driver somehow saved his life by jumping.

The panicky driver was helped by passers-by. He somehow doused the fire. The school van was being driven with a gas kit.

On Thursday morning, the driver Naveen was driving the van to pick up school children in Nagar.

Suddenly the van caught fire. Seeing the leaping flames, the driver stopped the van on the road and jumped out of the van.

India: Prof Kala instructs for cleanliness on medical college hospital wards

Kanpur: Expressing intense displeasure with the Chief Medical Officer RK Maurya, the Hallet Hospital Principal Prof Sanjay Kala appeared upset with the irregularities in the medical college hospital. He instructed him to take strict action.

The principal's surprise inspection caused a stir on the hospital campus. He had inspected the hospital on Wednesday night and further on Thursday morning also.

Piles of garbage lying out of Emergency Wing irked him intensely. He was there for two hours and learnt of the poor conditions.

India: Boy finds Bike driving as tough as solving maths problems

Kanpur: What the 14-year-old boy said was that he was trying to learn bike driving like others in his age group.

One morning he got up early to offer early morning prayer but did not return prior to 8 a.m. He remained out for almost three and a half hours.

"Thought of a bike driving used to terrify me. So learning in my early teens would surely help me in later days" he said to his friends.

He also expressed: "I barely know, how long will it take?"

India: Woman beaten up to stop her husband's second marriage

Kanpur: A wife attempted to stop second marriage of her husband was beaten up. The woman alleged that her father-in-law and two brothers-in-law were  involved in the assault.

The video of the assault on the woman went viral on social media. The  police have registered a case and investigation will be initiated.

The beating of woman named Varsha, a resident of Akbarpur area of ​​Kanpur Dehat alleged that her husband Robin, father-in-law Kallu, brother-in-law Virendra and Surendra were beaten up.

India: Police unfold elderly couples' murder mystery of Kanpur's Barra area

Kanpur: The police have unfolded the murder mystery of an elderly couple on the clues traced through the recorded CCTV footage.

Police on Tuesday arrested the daughter of an elderly couple hours after their bodies were recovered from their house in the Barra area of Kanpur.

The dead bodies of Munna Lal Uttam (62) and his wife Raj Devi (55) were found in separate rooms of their house on Tuesday morning.

Their throats slit were slit open as was reported. They were found lying in separate rooms on the ground floor of their house.

India: Fact-checker Alt News co-founder Zubair produced in Sitapur court

Sitapur (UP), Jul 4 (PTI) Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair, arrested by Delhi Police last week, was produced in a court here on Monday in connection with an FIR lodged against him for allegedly calling Hindu seers "hate mongers".

Zubair was produced in the court of the Sitapur judicial magistrate, who sent him to 14 days' judicial custody.

Kanpur: Auto-tempo drivers turned the GT Road from Gol Chauraha towards Kalyanpur side as a parking and stand.

The Additional CP (Traffic) Rahul Mithai has said that If the situation does not improve within two days, action will be taken against the traffic inspector concerned.

If you are going or returning from Kalyanpur side on this road you will have to struggle through the crowd of auto-tempo drivers standing randomly on the road between Gutaya Crossing to Rawatpur Square.

India: Nervous students relaxed as CBSE delays Class 10 results

Kanpur: Sleepless nights were experienced by students who were awaiting their results for Class 10 since culmination of the exam.

Several students tried to search online their respective names among the successful candidates but they looked aggrieved with a distinct news regarding the results.

Now, we will have to be disturbed for two more days. Delay in declaration of the results remain quite disturbing, said a student.

Some examinees were not rising up as they felt worse. But their parents convinced them to be normal. There was no need to be scared. 

India: Street hawking of sacrificial goats comes into sight in Kanpur

Kanpur: A large number of traders come from the villages of the outlying districts for the sale of animals in the city.

According to the traders, Fatehpur, Kalpi, Etawah and Auraiya are the most known destinations.

They also add that animals for sale come from Rajasthan and Gujarat, though they are hesitant that it would be not possible at this festival, they are overheard saying. 

One seller Hammad had brought as many as 12 animals from nearby places. Two animals left as 8  were sold by ferrying in the narrower lanes, he disclosed.
