Pakistani PM Calls For Unity Of Islamic World, Assistance To Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Mar 23 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan, here yesterday, called for the unity of the Islamic world, to deal with problems faced by Muslims across the globe and bring peace in the world.

Khan made the remarks, during his keynote speech at the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which kicked off here yesterday.

OIC Foreign Ministers gather in Pakistan for 2 days conference

22 March 2022; MEMO: Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), a 57-nation Muslim bloc, gathered in Pakistan's capital Islamabad on Tuesday for a conference, Anadolu News Agency reports.

The two-day event is being held under the theme, "Partnering for Unity, Justice and Development".

Saudi Arabia, Turkey discuss normalising relations

23 March 2022; MEMO: Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, yesterday announced that he had "constructive discussions" with his Saudi counterpart Faisal Bin Farhan on bilateral relations.

"Met with foreign minister Faisal Bin Farhan of Saudi Arabia," Cavusoglu said on Twitter, adding that they had agreed to "work together to further develop our bilateral relations."

India: Labourer dies as roof falls during house demolition in Kanpur

Kanpur: A 36-year-old labourer was killed after the roof of a dilapidated house fell on him. He was carrying out the demolishing work of an old house at Ghasiyari Mandi in Harbansh Mohal area here.

DCP (East) Pramod Kumar said the demolition work of an old dilapidated house was being carried out in Harbansh Mohal's Ghasiyari Mandi.

In an attempt to demolish a wall, the roof fell on the worker, leaving him severely injured.

Other labourers and contractors present at the spot rushed him to Ursala hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

22 March 2022; MEMO: China is investing over $400 billion in nearly 600 projects across the Muslim world under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Chinese Foreign Minister said on Tuesday, and Anadolu News Agency reports.

Speaking at the meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers in Islamabad, Wang Yi said Beijing has close ties with the Muslim world, based on respect and mutual cooperation.

India: Three men intoxicate & molest woman, reportedly held later

Kanpur: A woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men under the pretext of alcohol. According to the available reports, the accused intoxicated her before sexually assaulting the woman in Chakeri's Lal Bungalow area.

When the woman tried to protest, she was thrashed by the men. On hearing the noises, the local people gathered and informed the police about the horrible incident.

Upon reaching the spot the police arrested one of the accused. A search was launched to catch the other culprits.

The victim has been admitted to the hospital for the primary treatment.

India: Man held for murder of lover's husband in Kanpur

Kanpur: A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his lover's husband in the forest area of Nirala Nagar railway ground in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur.

The arrested, identified as Pawan of Naubasta, was having an illicit affair with Kallu's wife Soni for the past few years.

ADCP South, Manish Sonker, said that we initially suspected Soni's four other friends of the murder, but as of now, there is no evidence against them.

Their location did not match with the place from where the body was recovered or the murder took place.

Afghanistan: Taliban nixes girls higher education despite earlier pledges

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — In a surprise decision the hardline leadership of Afghanistan’s new rulers has decided against opening educational institutions to girls beyond Grade six, a Taliban official said Wednesday on the first day of Afghanistan’s new school year.

The latest setback for girls’ education is certain to receive widespread condemnation from the international community that has been urging the Taliban leaders to open schools and give women their right to public space.

India: Acquiring of Dalit's house in Kanpur; 14 policemen sent to police lines

Kanpur: Mahadev's house was occupied by a person named Umrao in February. According to the news, Mahadev, a resident of Barra, had made a deal with a person named Umrao for Rs 35 lakh to sell his house in year 2014.This case is of Barra police station.

According to the media reports, there was presence of policemen during the occupation.

Umrao had registered a plot worth Rs 10 lakh and Rs 8 lakh in the name of Mahadev.

After this Mahadev got his house registered to Umrao. But Mahadev did not give up the possession due to non-receipt of the remaining amount.

India: Ex-MLA's nephew hangs himself to death over property rift in Kanpur

Kanpur: Fed up with the land mafia, the nephew of former BJP MLA in Kanpur hanged himself to death. He hanged himself on the third floor of the house on Sunday evening.

His two under-construction houses were reportedly occupied by some people by locking them.

He was suffering from mental stress due to the accumulation of deposits, as reported.

The father has filed a complaint against five unknowns including a nominee at Naubasta police station here.

Former MLA's brother lives in Naubasta's housing development at Hanspuram.
