TEHRAN, Jan 17 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, yesterday called for resolving the refugee issues and anti-Syrian embargoes, as means to help settle Syria’s crisis, according to Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

“Without considering the issue of refugees and the sanctions imposed on Syria, (resolving) the crisis in this country cannot be directed in the right direction,” Amir Abdollahian said, at a meeting with the visiting UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen.

TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that agreements have been reached to a large extent in the talks in Vienna on the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, and what remains are key issues that require political decisions by the United States.

Many of the tables and their columns have been prepared in the negotiations and part of the parentheses have been cleared, the ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said during a weekly press conference, according to official news agency IRNA.

TEHRAN, Jan 15 (NNN-ISNA) – The first phase of extra-heavy crude refinery was inaugurated by the Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, in the southern island of Qeshm, yesterday.

The complex, which is Iran’s first extra-heavy crude refinery, will promote the export of by-products of crude refinement, such as bitumen, said the report.

According to the official news agency IRNA, Gholamhossein Ramezanpour, an energy official, said on Thursday that, by operating this refinery, 35,000 barrels per day of high quality bitumen will be produced.

TEHRAN, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- An Iranian lawmaker said on Saturday that Tehran and Riyadh are reviving their relations and preparing the ground for the reopening of their embassies.

Jalil Rahimi Jahan-Abadi, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, made the remarks in a Twitter post in Persian, adding the move will have important impacts on reducing regional tensions and fostering solidarity among Muslim states.

14 Jan 2022; MEMO: Iran's top diplomat, on his first official visit to China, announced the implementation of the ambitious 25-year strategic agreement between the two countries has begun, Anadolu News Agency reports.

Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, following extensive deliberations with senior Chinese officials during his two-day visit to Beijing, said on Friday the two sides agreed to announce the start of the implementation of the long-term pact.

TEHRAN, Jan 13 (NNN-TASNIM) – Iran’s Vice President for Economic Affairs, Mohsen Rezaei, called for closer cooperation with Cuba, to counter sanction pressures of the United States against the two nations, Iran’s state TV reported yesterday.

“By expanding cooperation, we must neutralise the sanctions and pressure,” Rezaei made the remarks, when meeting with Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, on Tuesday in the Nicaraguan capital, Managua.

TEHRAN, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, on Monday ruled out the likelihood of a temporary deal between Iran and remaining parties to the 2015 nuclear deal, also known as the JCPOA, in the ongoing Vienna meetings, saying that such a deal will not meet Iran's demands.

TEHRAN, Jan 9 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Bagheri Kani, said yesterday that, the disputes, or so-called “open parenthesis,” are decreasing in the ongoing Vienna talks.

Bagheri Kani made the remarks, at the end of meetings between representatives of Iran and other remaining parties to the 2015 nuclear deal, before leaving the Coburg Hotel in Vienna, where the negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear programme are continuing.

The Iranian negotiator also told reporters that, the talks are moving forward and are advancing, according to the report.

TEHRAN, Jan 7 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Bagheri Kani, said yesterday that, the government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) is obliged to unfreeze Iranian funds, in the country’s banks, blocked under the pretext of U.S. sanctions.

“Regardless of the outcome of the Vienna talks, the ROK government is committed to releasing Iran’s blocked funds in currency, and unilateral U.S. sanctions cannot justify non-payment of its debts to Iran,” Bagheri Kani said, in a meeting with ROK’s Vice Foreign Minister, Choi Jong-kun, in Austria’s capital, Vienna.
