Iranian president praises Iraq's efforts on Iran-Saudi negotiation

TEHRAN, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi praised Iraq's effort to enhance the region's security and stability, referring to Baghdad's sponsorship of the rounds of negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Raisi made the remarks in a phone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, and thanked the Iraqi government's efforts for hosting talks between Tehran and Riyadh, according to Iranian presidency's website.

A strong and cohesive government and a united society in Iraq have always been emphasized by the Islamic republic, he added.

Iranian lawmaker says ground prepared for win-win agreement in Vienna nuke talks

TEHRAN, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- An Iranian lawmaker said on Wednesday that the ground is de facto prepared for reaching a win-win agreement in the Vienna talks on the restoration of the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, official news agency IRNA reported.

This will take place if the Western sides show goodwill and determination, Mahmoud Abbaszadeh Meshkini, spokesman of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee noted, adding Iran's chief negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani described the trend reflected in the Vienna talks as positive.

Iran condemns rocket attack on Baghdad airport

29 Jan 2022; MEMO: Iran on Saturday condemned a rocket attack that targeted Baghdad International Airport a day earlier, terming it an attempt to disrupt security and stability in Iraq, Anadolu Agency reports.

In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said the attack aimed at "stoking insecurity and chaos" in the country.

He said such attacks "pave way for ill-wishers and seditionists" and "affect government services for Iraqi citizens."

Limited gas flow test starts from Iran to Turkey

29 Jan 2022; MEMO: Natural gas supply testing from Iran to Turkey has started in limited quantities, which will alleviate natural gas cuts to the country's industrial sector from 31 January, Turkey's state pipeline operator BOTAS said late Friday and Anadolu News Agency reports.

TEHRAN, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- The fifth round of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia will be held in the Iraqi capital Baghdad to normalize bilateral relations, Iraj Masjedi, the Iranian ambassador to Iraq was quoted as saying by the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) on Friday.

Without specifying the exact date of the talks and the details, Masjedi said the meeting will be held "soon."
