Indian Polls: BJP gets over 58 per cent vote share in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 24 (PTI) The BJP, which won 24 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan where it had lost the 2018 assembly polls to the Congress, saw its vote share increase from 54.94 per cent in 2014 to 58.5 per cent in this general election.

The saffron party had contested on 24 seats and its ally Rastriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) on one seat, which it won.

India: Woman gang-raped in Jaipur

Jaipur, May 23 (PTI) A woman in her 20's was allegedly tortured and raped by five persons including a doctor and a suspended police constable in the city, police said Thursday.

The accused left the woman in a semi-naked position on the Agra road here on Wednesday, they said.

The woman alleged that she was tortured and gang-raped on Tuesday night, they added.

India: Three juveniles apprehended for raping minor girl

Sikar, May 21 (PTI) Three juveniles were apprehended for allegedly raping a minor girl in Rajasthan's Sikar district, police said Tuesday.

They were held following a complaint by a Class 11 student, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramavtar Soni said.

The case was registered against them under the Indian Penal Code's section 376D and provisions of the POCSO Act at Neema Ka Thana Sadar police station, he said.

India: Married woman gangraped in Bikaner

Bikaner, May 19 (PTI) In yet another case of gangrape, a married woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by three persons at an isolated place near here where she had gone to collect firewood, police said Sunday.

The alleged incident occurred on May 15 while the woman reached the police station along with her husband in the wee hours of May 18 to lodge the complaint," said Chhatargarh police station in-charge Sandeep Kumar.

India: Rj govt asks police to register FIRs at SP, DC offices

Jaipur, May 18 (PTI) Rajasthan government on Saturday directed the state police to make arrangements to register FIRs at the offices of the SPs and deputy commissioners if a local police station refuses to lodge the case.

Addition Chief Secretary (Home) Rajeeva Swarup wrote a letter to DGP Kapil Garg, asking him to make arrangement to register FIRs at the offices of SPs and deputy commissioners.

india: Seven booked for gang rape in Rajasthan

Kota (Rajasthan), May 17 (PTI) Seven persons including three brothers were booked for allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, the police said on Friday.

Bane Singh, Ghanshyam, Dewan, Mangilal, Durgalal, Pappu and Magilal hail from village Manpura Jagir in Jhalawar district and are yet to be nabbed, they said.

Of the seven accused, Bane Singh, Ghanshyam and Dewan are brothers, they added.

India: Three minors raped in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 18 (PTI) Three minor girls were raped in different parts of Rajasthan, including one in Alwar where the family members of the victim lynched one of the three accused, the police said on Saturday.

Aged around 15 years, the girl was allegedly gang raped by three minors on May 14 in Hasraura village under Sadar Police Station of Alwar where the girl had gone to attend a relative's marriage.

India: Raj govt to build 174 flats for MLAs

Jaipur, May 15 (PTI) The Rajasthan government will construct 174 flats with modern facilities in Vidhayak Nagar (west) at a cost of Rs 250 crore for the members of legislative assembly, an official spokesperson said Wednesday.

Besides, a parliamentary museum will also be set up in the assembly building at a cost of Rs 10 crore, he said.

The decisions were taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Assembly Speaker C P Joshi.

India: 116 iron nails, wire removed from man's stomach

Kota (Raj), May 14 (PTI) Doctors at the Bundi government hospital removed 116 iron nails, a long wire and an iron pellet from the stomach of a 42-year-old man here.

Dr Anil Saini, a surgeon at the hospital, said most nails measured 6.5 cm and it took an hour-and-a-half to remove the objects from the man's body.

"I was stunned after noticing the objects in his X-ray report after which I recommended for a CT scan. That, too, confirmed the same after which the patient was operated upon on Monday, said Dr Saini.

India: Police constable's wife raped in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 14 (PTI) A police constable's wife was allegedly raped by a man in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan, police said Tuesday.

The woman alleged that the accused Suresh clicked objectionable pictures of her and was blackmailing and raping her for the last four months, SHO of Kotwali Police Station Chandman said.

The woman and the accused were known to each other.

A case was lodged on Monday and a hunt launched for the accused.
