Ex-Israel spy Pollard storms Joseph's Tomb in Nablus

14 Apr 2021; MEMO: Former Israeli spy, Jonathan Pollard, yesterday joined scores of illegal settlers in storming Joseph's Tomb in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.

Local Kan reported that Pollard had accompanied a "convoy of buses packed with scores of Jewish settlers who broke into the site and performed religious rituals," adding that Israeli occupation forces had secured the road and venue for them.

Palestine: Hamas will support national unity government

14 Apr 2021; MEMO: A member of the Hamas Political Bureau said on Monday that the movement will support a national unity government regardless of the outcome of next month's parliamentary election. Dr Khalil Al-Hayya told Al Aqsa TV that Hamas wants to reorganise the Palestinian institutions and support such a government that works to end the internal political division under the eyes of the incoming parliament.

14 Apr 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, called on Tuesday for immediate international intervention to stop Israel's detention of its parliamentary election candidates. The movement made the announcement at the Palestinian Central Elections Commission in Ramallah.

Israel: Settlers sieze 15 Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem's Silwan

08 Apr 2021; MEMO: Jewish settlers siezed 15 Palestinian houses in the occupied East Jerusalem district of Silwan, the Palestinian Information Centre quoted Israel's Channel 7 reporting.

According to the channel, the settlers placed Israeli flags on 15 houses in Silwan after the Ateret Cohanim organisation seized them and handed them to settler families.

Palestinians mourn Jerusalemite killed by Israel forces

08 Apr 2021; MEMO: The funeral of 42-year-old Jerusalemite Osama Siddiq Mansour was held in the occupied village of Biddu village on Tuesday.

Mansour was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire at his car in the early hours of Tuesday morning, his wife was injured in the incident. The couple were on their way home.

Osama Mansour, 42, and his wife Sumayya, 35, were on their way home around 2:30am when they were stopped at a flying checkpoint.

Israel: Settler kills 73-year-old Palestinian woman

07 Apr 2021; MEMO: An elderly Palestinian woman died this morning after she succumbed to injuries she sustained when an Israeli settler rammed his car into her on a road in southern Hebron in the occupied West Bank.

According to local sources, a settler driving at high speed ran over 73-year-old Shafiqa Mohamed Abu Aqeel leaving her with serious injuries.

The victim was rushed to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba where she was pronounced dead.

'No elections without Jerusalem': Hamas

07 Apr 2021; MEMO: Hamas on Monday stressed it would not accept holding Palestinian parliamentary election without the participation of Palestinians in Jerusalem.

In a statement, member of the movement's political bureau Ezzat Al-Reshq said: "We insist that the Palestinian people in Jerusalem have the right to participate in the coming elections, as candidates and as voters, exactly as in 2006."

Israel defies Biden, builds new settlement units in Jerusalem

07 Apr 2021; MEMO: The Israeli planning and building committee in Jerusalem is to discuss plans for further construction beyond occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz revealed on Tuesday.

This is, according to Haaretz, the first time that a settlement plan is being proposed and discussed since the start of the tenure of US President Joe Biden.

Palestine: PA urges action against Israel settlements

06 Apr 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Authority (PA) yesterday urged the international community to take immediate action against Israel's settlement expansion and "ethnic cleansing".

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the PA said: "Israeli settlement practices are part of official Israeli plans to evacuate the Palestinian territories from their original residents and make it a deep background for the strategic Israeli colonial project."

Palestine: Hamas ready to form coalition government

03 Apr 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced on Friday that it is ready to form a coalition government after the parliamentary election.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Mubasher TV, Hamas official Ismail Ridwan stated: "Even if Hamas won the majority of the seats in parliament, it would be ready to form a national coalition government."

He also affirmed: "We hope that the election goes ahead without Israeli interference."
