N.Korea leader presides key party to increase nuclear war deterrence

SEOUL, May 24 (NNN-YONHAP) — North Korean leader Kim Jong-un presided over a Central Military Commission meeting and discussed “new policies for further increasing the nuclear war deterrence of the country,” Yonhap news agency reported quoting the country’s state media Sunday.

Also discussed at the enlarged meeting of the Central Military Commission of the ruling Workers’ Party were important military steps and organisational and political measures to further bolster up the overall armed forces, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

North Korea halting talks with washington until US election is over

MOSCOW, May 20 (NNN-AGENCIES) — North Korea has halted talks with the United States until the results of the US presidential election in November are known, Russia’s ambassador to Pyongyang told news agencies Wednesday.

President Donald Trump has met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un three times at historic summits and voiced admiration for him, although hopes of striking a comprehensive agreement have faded.

Russia provides 25,000 tonnes of wheat to North Korea in humanitarian aid

PYONGYANG, May 14. /TASS/: North Korea has received 25,000 tonnes of high-quality wheat from Russia in humanitarian aid, the Russian embassy in Pyongyang said in a statement on Facebook on Thursday.

"On May 14, Ambassador Alexander Matsegora and Russian embassy diplomats visited the port of Nampo, where the Polina cargo ship flying the flag of Sierra Leone had arrived. It delivered 25,000 tonnes of high-quality grain from Novorossiysk," the statement reads.

 

Pyongyang slams combat drills of South Korea as ‘reckless military provocation’

PYONGYANG, May 8. /TASS/: Authorities of North Korea slammed recent combat drills of South Korea as the ‘reckless military provocation,’ the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported citing a spokesperson for the North Korean Defense Ministry.

"On Wednesday, the South Korean military staged a joint military drill in the hotspot waters in the West Sea of Korea with the involvement of more than twenty fighters of F-15K, KF-16, F-4E and FA-50 belonging to the air combat command of the Air Force and storm boats under the Navy's 2nd Fleet and others," the news agency stated.

DPRK top leader Kim Jong Un cuts tape for factory completion

PYONGYANG, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of a phosphatic fertilizer factory on Friday, according to the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Saturday.

"All the participants broke into thunderous cheers of 'hurrah!', extending the greatest glory to the Supreme Leader who has brought about a new change" in the development of fertilizer industry, the report said.

North Korea calls for stronger coronavirus measures

12 April 2020; AFP: North Korea called for stronger measures against the rapidly spreading coronavirus pandemic at a meeting presided by leader Kim Jong Un, state media reported Sunday, without acknowledging whether the country had reported any infections.

The already isolated, nuclear-armed North quickly shut down its borders after the virus was first detected in neighbouring China in January, and imposed strict containment measures.

N Korea Conducts Test-Firing Of Super-Large Multiple Rocket Launchers

PYONGYANG, Mar 30 (NNN-KCNA) – The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), successfully test-fired super-large multiple rocket launchers on Sunday, it was reported on Monday morning.

The report said, the test was conducted by the Academy of Defence Science, to verify the tactical and technological specifications of the launch system “to be delivered to units of the Korean People’s Army.”

The South Korean military, said that, it observed, two short-range missiles were fired from DPRK’s eastern coastal city of Wonsan, flying 230 km with a maximum altitude of 30 km.

North Korea's Kim Jong Un Watches Demonstration Firing Of Tactical Guided Weapon

PYONGYANG, Mar 22 (NNN-KCNA) – Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), observed the demonstration firing of tactical guided weapon, on Saturday.

The firing was aimed at re-confirming and showing Korean People’s Army commanding officers, the tactical characters and power of a new weapon system, to be delivered to the army units, the report said.

After Kim gave an order, the projectiles were fired “with roaring sound and dazzling flare to precisely hit a target islet,” the report said.
