No political motives behind attack on Belarusian diplomat — Belarusian foreign minister

MINSK, July 25. /TASS/: Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey said on Thursday he sees no political motives behind the attack on his country’s diplomat in Ankara.

"Investigation is underway. There are no political motives behind the incident," he told journalists.

Minsk refutes reports about Russian troops in Chernobyl zone near Ukrainian border

MINSK, July 20. /TASS/: Belarus’ Defense Ministry has dismissed Ukrainian media reports that Russian troops had been deployed to the Belarusian section of the Chernobyl zone of exclusion, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said on its Telegram channel.

"The reports about alleged ‘Russian forces’ presence in the Belarusian section of the Chernobyl zone of exclusion’ are far from reality," the Defense Ministry said.

Belarus, Russia agree on integration concept — Belarusian minister

MINSK, July 17. /TASS/: Minsk and Russia have agreed on the key areas of the development of integration processes within the Union State of Belarus and Russia, Belarusian Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi said on Wednesday.

"I think the concept of our future activities has been agreed upon for the most part," Krutoi, who co-chairs a Russian-Belarusian intergovernmental working group, said, as cited by the BelTA news agency.

 

Two Russians face criminal charges over fatal Minsk fireworks blast

MINSK, July 17. /TASS/: Investigators are pressing charges against two Russian nationals arrested over explosions during a festive fireworks display in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on July 3, the Russian Embassy in Belarus informed TASS on Wednesday.

"Charges have been filed, and the investigative activities are continuing," said Embassy Spokesman Sergei Aryaev.

Minsk calls UN Human Rights Council resolution on Belarus "absurd"

MINSK, July 12. /TASS/: The resolution of the United Nations Human Rights Council on Belarus is absurd both in its contents and the idea of its adoption, Directorate for Information and Digital Diplomacy of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said in a comment released on Friday.

"The resolution runs counter to the spirit of current relations between Belarus and the European Union. We are confident that the mandate of the special rapporteu’s on Belarus and the resolution should be abolished," the foreign ministry said.

Donetsk calls for new measures to monitor ceasefire in Donbass

MINSK, July 2. /TASS/: The situation along the contact line in Donbass is rapidly spiraling into critical, Natalya Nikonorova, the foreign minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the DPR envoy to the Minsk peace talks, said at the Tuesday meeting of the Contact Group’s security subgroup.

"The cases of shelling and the caliber of the weapons used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces have multiplied in the past month," the DPR Foreign Ministry quoted Nikonorova as saying in its Telegram channel.

Putin arrives in Minsk to attend European Games closing ceremony

MINSK, June 30. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on Sunday to attend the closing ceremony of the Second European Games.

The Russian president was invited to take part in the ceremony on June 25 by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Russian athletes win 21 medals on Day 2 of 2019 European Games in Minsk

MINSK, June 24. /TASS/: The Russian national team has reinforced its top position in the overall medals standings after Day 2 of the 2019 European Games in the Belarusian capital of Minsk having won 21 more medals on Sunday.

Thirty-eight sets of medals were contested on June 23 and the athletes of the Russian national team grabbed ten gold, five silver and six bronze medals.

After two days of the 2019 European Games’ competitions, the Russian team is in the lead packing 19 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze medals.

Minsk 2019 European Games officially declared open

MINSK, June 22. /TASS/: Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has officially declared the Minsk 2019 European Games open.

The opening ceremony took place at the Dynamo National Olympic Stadium and was attended by many high-ranking state officials, including Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Moldovan President Igor Dodon, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus Grigory Rapota.

The honor of lighting the flame of the Games was bestowed on seven leading Belarusian athletes.

Donetsk claims lack of progress during talks in Minsk

MINSK, June 5. /TASS/: The political subgroup of the Contact Group for the settlement in eastern Ukraine has not reached any significant progress in the discussion of the main item on the agenda during Wednesday’s talks in Minsk, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) envoy Natalia Nikonorova stated.
