Moscow, Minsk fail to agree on oil and petroleum products transit tariffs

MINSK, January 13. /TASS/: Anti-monopoly regulators of Russia and Belarus failed to reach agreements on Russian oil and petroleum transit tariffs, a representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade said following the talks in Moscow on Monday.

"Representatives of antimonopoly services of Belarus and Russia failed to reach agreements on tariffs on transit of Russian oil and petroleum products via the territory of our country. The talks will continue shortly," the representative was quoted as saying by the BelTA news agency.

Supply of Russian oil to Belarusian refineries renewed

MINSK, January 4. /TASS/: The supply of Russian oil to Belarusian oil refineries has been renewed, Deputy Chairman of Belneftekhim Concern Vladimir Sizov informed on Saturday.

"Today, at 17:05 (local time, same as Moscow time - TASS), the pumps have been turned on and oil supply has begun in the direction of Naftan [oil refinery]," the BelTA news agency quotes the chairman as saying. He added that the supply would then reach the Mozyrsky oil refinery, with 6,000 tonnes of oil to be supplied by the end of the day.

Russia halts oil supplies to Belarus amid economic talks

Minsk (Belarus), Jan 3 (AP) Russia has halted oil supplies to Belarus after the two countries failed to renegotiate a contract amid talks on further improving economic ties.

Belarus' state-owned Belneftekhim oil company said Friday that Moscow has stopped supplying crude oil to the country's refineries until contracts for this year are drawn up.

The two Belarusian refineries were operating at low capacity, running on reserves from last year.

Belarus to receive Russian gas at $127 per 1,000 cubic meters in January - February

MINSK, January 4. /TASS/: Supplies of Russian natural gas to Belarus in January - February of this year will be carried at the price of 2019 - $127 per 1,000 cubic meters, press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told TASS.

"In accordance with the agreements reached, supplies in January - February will be made at the price of $127 per 1,000 cubic meters," the press service said.

Russia halts oil supplies to Belarus

MINSK, January 3. /TASS/: Russia has stopped oil supplies to Belarus, two oil refineries in the country continue to operate, but their capacity has been reduced to the minimum acceptable level, a source in Belneftekhim Concern informed TASS on Friday.

"Russian oil is not delivered. The capacity of oil refineries has been reduced to the minimum technologically permissible level," the source said.

Belarus interested in dialogue with NATO — top brass

MINSK, December 31. /TASS/: Belarus is ready to develop cooperation with NATO and this is one of the areas of its multi-vector foreign policy aimed at maintaining friendly and good-neighborly relations with foreign partners, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told TASS on Tuesday.

"The Republic of Belarus is interested in maintaining and developing dialogue with NATO. This is natural, considering the fact that the alliance is a military and political actor of the world level," the ministry said.

Minsk hopes for $70mln compensation after dirty oil incident - Belarusian diplomat

MINSK, December 9. /TASS/: Belarus hopes to receive a sum of about 70 million US dollars as compensation after the incident with contaminated oil, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko said on Sunday commenting on the results of the talks between the two countries’ leaders in Sochi.

"The sum at question is quite big - about 70 million US dollars," BelTA news agency quoted him as saying. According to the Belarusian diplomat, the problem of compensation was raised at the leaders’ talks.

Minsk plans Russian gas price for 2020 at last year level

MINSK, November 27. / TASS /: The Belarus' government has planned the price of Russian gas in the 2020 budget at the level of last year — $127 per 1000 cubic meters, the country’s Minister of Finance Maxim Ermolovich told reporters on Wednesday.

"We formed the macro-forecast based on the basic scenario of economic development. The gas price is set at the current year level," Ermolovich said.

Belarus threatens to pull out of Russia integration deal over subsidy row

MINSK (Reuters) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on Sunday threatened to pull out of signing an integration deal with Russia next month if Moscow failed to resolve their dispute over energy subsidies.

Russia has propped up its traditional ally with loans and subsidies to keep Belarus in its political orbit but now plans to phase these out to lessen the burden on its economy.

That has strained ties at the same time as Lukashenko has sought to improve relations with the West.
