Contact Group to discuss lifting Donbass economic blockade during next meeting

MINSK, June 5. /TASS/: The Contact Group on Eastern Ukrainian settlement will discuss the lifting the economic blockade that Kiev imposed on self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk (DPR and LPR), the OSCE special envoy said after a meeting in Minsk on Wednesday.

Belarus deputy PM to hold talks on oil issues in Moscow on May 16

MINSK, May 15 / TASS /: Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Igor Lyashenko will hold talks with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak on oil issues during a working visit to Moscow on May 16, Belarus Council of Ministers told TASS on Wednesday.

"On May 16, the Belarus Deputy Prime Minister will hold talks in Moscow with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, on oil issues," he said.

Belarus will not link oil pollution incident to Russia’s tax maneuver

MINSK, May 11. /TASS/: Minsk has no intention to take advantage of oil pollution incident and link it to the situation surrounding Russia’s tax maneuver, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"It has nothing to do with the tax maneuver," he said, as cited by the BelTA news agency. "An incident occurred. Was it done deliberately and on purpose? Let them [Russians] sort things out for themselves. I am told that our oil refineries are getting clean oil, a portion of the polluted oil was pumped into our storage facilities," Lukashenko added.

Minsk ready to cooperate with EU on issues of construction of Belarusian NPP

MINSK, May 4. /TASS/: Belarus reiterates its commitment to constructive cooperation with the European Union on the project for the construction of a nuclear plant in its territory and deems Lithuania’s claims as ungrounded, Belarusian foreign ministry spokesman, Anatoly Glaz, said on Saturday.

Belarus-China visa-free agreement comes into force

MINSK, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- The intergovernmental agreement on visa-free travel between Belarus and China came into force on Friday.

From now on, Belarusians can stay in China without a visa for up to 30 days in one trip, but not more than 90 days a year. The same rule applies to Chinese citizens.

If a person wants to stay in the country for more than 30 days or engage in educational and professional activities, he or she needs a special visa. Visa-free travel covers private trips, business trips and tourist trips.
