23 Dec 2022; MEMO: Three Jewish anti-racism activists critical of the state of Israel were reportedly expelled from the UK Labour Party over the past week, which under the leadership of Keir Starmer has been accused of a relentless crackdown of pro-Palestine Jews and left-wing activists.

Turkish president slams Greece for its hostile approach to migrants

23 Dec 2022; MEMO: Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday criticised Greece over its hostile approach toward migrants.

"The attitude of our western neighbor Greece toward migrants has now reached the level of brutality," Erdogan said in his address to the inaugural congress of the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of the Islamic World in Istanbul.

Unfortunately, the Western countries are not responding to "this brutality of Greece," the Turkish leader lamented.

EU court reject's appeal of far-right French politician

22 Dec 2022; MEMO: The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Tuesday rejected the appeal of far-right French politician, Eric Zemmour, against his conviction in 2017 for inciting discrimination and religious hatred against Muslims in France.

On Twitter, the EU court said that it found the far-right Zemmour had made claims that could inflame tensions surrounding the Muslim community in France.

Israel kills Palestinian footballer in Nablus

22 Dec 2022; MEMO: Just days after the FIFA World Cup during which the issue of Palestine featured prominently, Israeli occupation forces have today shot dead a Palestinian footballer and wounded at least 24 other people in Nablus. Local sources said that Ahmad Atef Daraghma, 23, from the northern West Bank city of Tubas, played for the Thaqafi football club in Tulkarem and was hit by live rounds in the back and feet.

US may deny visas to Israelis suspected of committing crimes against Palestinians

22 Dec 2022; MEMO: The US is considering denying visas to Israelis suspected of violence and crimes against Palestinians, Israel Hayom has reported. The US Embassy in Jerusalem is apparently closely examining cases of violence committed by Israelis against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian dies in Israeli jail after years of 'medical negligence'

20 Dec 2022; MEMO: Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jail, Nasser Abu Hamid, had died in detention as a result of medical negligence, the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees' Affairs announced today.

Fifty-year-old Nasser was transferred from Ramle Prison to Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh Medical Centre) by occupation forces yesterday after his health deteriorated rapidly.

UK: Queen Mary University votes to disaffiliate from NUS after Dallali sacking

20 Dec 2022; MEMO: Students at Queen Mary University, London, have voted to disaffiliate from the National Union of Students (NUS) in response to Shaima Dallali being fired as president.

Queen Mary Students' Union accused the NUS of having "contributed to the spread of anti-Palestinian racism" by firing Dallali, and described her removal as an "affront to the democratic nature that the NUS purports to obtain".
