09 Aug 2021; MEMO: Israeli occupation authorities have renewed detention orders for 70 per cent of the Palestinian administrative detainees held in Israeli jails, Al-Ayyam newspaper reported yesterday.
Reporting on details released by the Palestine Centre for Prisoners Studies, Al-Ayyam said that the detention orders were renewed for periods of between two and six months.
09 Aug 2021; MEMO: Hamas said it was "shocked" by the Saudi sentences against Palestinian and Jordanian detainees it has held since 2019.
In a statement issued yesterday, Hamas said: "We were shocked with the rulings issued by Saudi Judiciary against the Palestinian and Jordanian brothers who are living in the Kingdom."
09 Aug 2021; MEMO: Israeli public prosecution yesterday submitted a request to extend the solitary confinement of the head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, Raed Salah, for additional six months.
Salah's lawyer, Khaled Zabarka, told local media that the request was submitted "on behalf of the prison authority to the Beersheba District Court," adding that the court session was set for today.
09 Aug 2021; MEMO: Saudi Arabia yesterday sentenced Hamas representative to Riyadh Mohammed Al-Khodari to 15 years in prison, sources reported.
Al-Khodari's son, Hani, was sentenced to three years in prison, according to the family. Some 22 other Palestinians were handed prison terms ranging from five to 25 years.
The Palestinians, who lived in Saudi Arabia, were charged with "supporting the Palestinian resistance and Hamas."
New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) After Rahul Gandhi's account was temporarily suspended and a tweet deleted, the Congress on Monday accused Twitter of adopting "double standards" and violating the freedom of expression "under the diktat of the Modi Government".
The action by Twitter was condemned at a meeting of party general secretaries on Sunday evening, where the leaders decided to take up this matter at all levels.
07 Aug 2021; MEMO: Israeli fighters have carried out several airstrikes in multiple places on Friday night in the north of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources have reported.
The Israeli bombing targetted a hill in the northern Gazan city of Jabalia, known as the Civil Administration site, where the Palestinian resistance has a military base.
Palestinian sources reported that three Palestinian homes were affected by the Israeli attacks; one was directly hit by large shrapnel.

08 Aug 2021; MEMO: In a statement published on Friday, the Ennahda Movement expressed its rejection of the illegal procedure of placing former Minister of Transportation and Logistics Anwar Maaroufi under house arrest.
The movement emphasised that it would resort to the Administrative Court to appeal the arbitrary decision, due to its disregard for all conventional legal steps.

Allahabad (UP), Aug 8 (PTI) The order for a departmental re-inquiry against suspended paediatrician Dr Kafeel Khan has been withdrawn, the Uttar Pradesh government has informed the Allahabad High Court.
The order of a departmental re-inquiry was given on February 24 last year.
