Palestine: Hamas, PA condemn Israel's plan to build bus station in West Bank

18 Oct 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas and the Palestinian Authority (PA) on Sunday condemned Israel's building of a large bus station in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement, Hamas announced: "Building an Israeli bus station near the West Bank city of Nablus is a new crime and Zionist oppression on the Palestinians."

17 Oct 2021; MEMO: Two​​ cyclists broke the world record for the largest GPS drawing ever created, spelling out 'Refugees Welcome' to raise funds for a charity welcoming in refugees.

Georgie, from Glasgow, and David, from Bournemouth, are part of a community of cyclists called Thighs Of Steel, who have raised over a quarter of a million pounds for grassroots refugee projects by cycling thousands of miles from London to Athens every summer since 2015.

India: Teen girl dies by suicide after being molested in UP

Fatehpur (UP), Oct 16 (PTI) A 15-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide in a village under Malwan area here after she was molested by a youth from the same neighbourhood, police said on Saturday.

The victim apparently consumed some poisonous substance late on Friday night and later died in the district hospital during treatment on Saturday, SHO of Malwan police station Arvind Singh said.

India: 3-year-old girl raped, strangled to death in UP

Fatehpur (UP), Oct 16 (PTI) A three-year-old child was allegedly raped and killed by a youth in a village under Khaga Kotwali police station area here, police said on Saturday.

The youth has been arrested in the case, police said.

The child, who was living with her maternal grandmother, was found dead on Friday evening in a rented room of the youth living in the neighbourhood, (SHO) in-charge of Khaga Kotwali, Santosh Kumar Sharma said.

US Congress committee says Tunisia democracy in 'danger'

15 Oct 2021; MEMO: Democracy in Tunisia is in danger following a series of executive orders issued by President Kais Saied, the Congress Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa and Global Counterterrorism said yesterday.

This came during a virtual hearing titled "Tunisia: Examining the State of Democracy and Next Steps for U.S. Policy" held with the participation of a number of committee members and political experts.

Hamas welcomes UNESCO pro- Palestine resolutions

15 Oct 2021; MEMO: Hamas yesterday welcomed two resolutions adopted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in favour of Palestine at the 212th session of its executive board held in Paris.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry in Gaza said the resolutions on occupied Palestine and cultural and educational institutions were unanimously adopted by members of the organisation's executive council.

Ben Gurion 'didn't finish the job' of ethnic cleansing: Israel MK Bezalel Smotrich

14 Oct 2021; MEMO: The presence of Palestinians in Israel is a "mistake", said member of the Israeli Knesset Bezalel Smotrich. The 41-year-old leader of the religious Zionist Party and a MK made the remarks during a heated exchange in the Knesset yesterday where he said that Palestinians exist in Israel because its founder David Ben Gurion did not "finish the job" of clearing out the territory of its indigenous populations.

Calling Arab lawmakers "enemies" in an angry exchange during a debate, Smotrich said:
