India: 3 Kashmiris killed by Indian Sec Forces in Shopian district of Indian Administered Kashmir

Srinagar, 12 October 2021: Three Kashmiris were killed on Tuseday by Indian security forces in Shopian district of the Indian Administered Kashmir, Indian officials said.

Five Indian Army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), also lost their lives in a fierce gunfight with terrorists during an operation in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.

Algeria groups boycott imports of 500 French companies

11 Oct 2021; MEMO: The General Assembly of Algerian Contractors, an economic employers' association, yesterday announced that it had decided to boycott the imports of 500 French companies following French President Emmanuel Macron's "harmful comments" about Algeria's history and image.

"We thank all the economic institutions that took the initiative to cut their commercial dealings with about 500 French export and import companies," the body said in a statement.

India: Dalit man beaten to death in Rajasthan over love affair

Jaipur, Oct 9 (PTI) A dalit man was allegedly beaten to death by a group of men in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district over his love affair, police said on Saturday.

Three people have been detained in this connection, they said.

Taking strong note of the incident, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat hit out at the Congress-led state government for keeping silence on the matter.

UN declares access to a clean environment a human right

The vote passed comfortably, despite criticism in the lead-up from some countries, notably the United States and Britain.

Israel court retracts permission for silent Jewish prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque

09 Oct 2021; MEMO: An Israeli court in Jerusalem has revoked a previous decision of the Magistrate's Court permitting "silent prayers" for Jews in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Quds News Network reported on Friday.

Reporting Israeli public broadcaster Kan: "The Israeli police filed an appeal against the decision of the Magistrate's Court that prevented the deportation of a settler who performed a silent prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque."

India: Farooq Abdullah condemns killing of youth by CRPF

Srinagar, Oct 8 (PTI) National Conference (NC) president and Member of Parliament Farooq Abdullah Friday condemned the killing of a youth in Anantnag in CRPF firing on Thursday night.

Abdullah called the use of force by the CRPF "undue and unjust".

"As we were yet to come to terms with the loss of precious civilian lives in targeted killings in Srinagar, death of a youth resulting from CRPF firing has us again down in the dumps. Such incidents will further add to the already brewing sense of insecurity in the people," he said.

Srinagar, 08 Oct 2021: A Kashmiri was killed on Friday by Indian security forces in Natipora Area of the Indian Administered Kashmir, Indian officials said.

Slain Kashmiri was identified as Aqib Bashir Kumar, a resident of Trenz Shopian.
