Syria: Airstrikes by Assad regime, Russian kill 19 civilians in Idlib

09 Dec 2019; MEMO: Russian and Syrian regime fighter jets on Saturday struck what is supposed to be a cease-fire zone in northwestern Syria, leaving at least 19 civilians dead, according to the opposition aircraft observatory, reports Anadolu Agency.

The observatory said Russian jets struck settlements in villages in Idlib, Syria in the southern Marratinnuman district, while regime forces mounted air and ground attacks on the town of Kafranbil and other local villages.

Unknown Group Attacks U.S. Base In Eastern Syria

DAMASCUS, Dec 7 (NNN-SANA) – An unknown group attacked a U.S. base in an oil field, in the eastern province of Deir al-Zour overnight, pushing the U.S. forces to respond.

The attackers targeted the base, in the al-Omar oil field, in the northeastern countryside of Deir al-Zour, as truckloads of military gears were reaching the base.

The U.S. forces responded with artillery shelling and flare bombs, according to the report.

Syria blames US for meddling in constitutional committee’s work

TASS, December 1: The Syrian Arab Republic has accused the United States of interfering in the constitutional committee’s work and attempting to impose its own agenda, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement, according to SANA news agency.

"The US State Department’s statement on the Geneva meetings of the constitutional committee definitely confirms Washington’s attempts to meddle in other states’ affairs and impose its own agenda on the constitutional committee," the document reads.

Turkey, Russia complete 12th joint patrol in North Syria

01 Dec 2019; MEMO: Turkish and Russian troops have completed the 12th round of joint ground patrols in northern Syria under a deal reached last month, Anadolu reports.

“Turkish and Russian units have completed their twelfth joint land patrol according to plan. A total of eight vehicles comprising of four from each side participated in the twelfth joint land patrol along with UAVs in the Qamishli-Derek sector,” Turkey’s National Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

U.S. carries out airdrops in Syria's Hasakah, kills 8 IS militants

DAMASCUS, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. forces carried out airdrops in Syria's northeastern province of Hasakah on Saturday, killing eight Islamic State (IS) militants, state TV reported.

The U.S. carried out two airdrops in the villages of Hisso and Rajm al-Hajar, where the U.S. forces killed eight IS militants, said the TV, spelling no further details.

The official media outlets have previously reported U.S. airdrops in northern Syria, mainly targeting IS militants.

Russian doctors arrive in northern Syria to provide medical assistance to civilians

KOBANE /Syria/, November 25. /TASS/: Doctors from a Russian special medical unit have started to arrive at a Russian military police base near the city of Kobane in northern Syria in order to provide medical assistance to civilians. Medical equipment and medications are also being delivered to the area.

Syrian Army Seizes Misherfah Town From Rebels In Northwestern Syria

DAMASCUS, Nov 25 (NNN-SANA) – The Syrian army captured the town of Misherfah, in the southern countryside of Idlib Province, in northwestern Syria, from the al-Qaeda-linked rebels.

The capture came after “intense battles” with the groups in the southern countryside of Idlib, with the army destroying the rebels’ weaponry.

It noted that many of the rebels fled the town towards other rebel-held areas in the south of Idlib.
