India: Teachers direct students to follow rules strictly

KANPUR: Parents show resentment at the schools demanding fee but the teachers teaching the students through online classes also have their grudge. 

In their online complaints, they have said that there are students who mute the teacher and other classmates during the live class. They have made strong objection at this kind of behaviour. 

They have urged the parents to look into this irrational attitude. Not only this but they have also warned the students to remain mute till asked by the teacher. In no case, students can mute anyone else.

India: Delhi court grants bail to 91 Tablighi foreigners from 21 countries

New Delhi, Jul 8 (PTI) A Delhi court Wednesday granted bail to 91 foreigners from 21 countries who were chargesheeted for attending Markaz at Nizamuddin here allegedly in violation of visa conditions, indulging in missionary activities illegally and violating government guidelines issued after the COVID-19 outbreak.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Gurmohina Kaur granted the relief to the foreigners on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 10,000 each.

India: SC asks SG Tushar Mehta to look into plea seeking action against illegal ashrams

New Delhi, Jul 8 (PTI) The Supreme Court Wednesday asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to look into a plea seeking action against illegal ashrams run by bogus Babas' across the country and rescuing women from jail-like conditions in Adhyatimik Vidyalaya' at Rohini here.

"Look into this, what can be done. This gives a bad name to everyone," the top court told Mehta.

India: J-K LG condemns killing of BJP leader Sheikh Waseem Bari

Srinagar, Jul 9 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor G C Murmu on Thursday condemned the killing of BJP leader Sheikh Waseem Bari and two of his family members in Bandipora district, saying the perpetrators of the cowardly act shall be brought to justice.

Bari, his father Bashir Ahmed and brother Umar Bashir were injured when militants opened fire on them outside Bari's shop near police station Bandipora at around 9 pm on Wednesday.They were rushed to the district hospital where they succumbed to injuries.

India: Lucknow's Haj House to be COVID care centre

Lucknow, Jul 8 (PTI) The Haj House located in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow is all set to become a COVID care centre, instructions for which were issued by District Magstrate Abhishek Prakash on Wednesday.

The Haj House is located in the Sarojini Nagar area of Lucknow. Haj pilgrims stay here before embarking on their journey.

India: TN Electricity Minister tests positive for coronavirus

Chennai, Jul 8 (PTI) Electricity Minister and AIADMK leader, P Thangamani has tested positive for coronavirus, a party spokespersonsaid here on Wednesday.

The Minister was admitted to a private hospital for treatment today following the test result, he said.

Thangamani, who holds the portfolios of power, prohibition and excise is also a senior AIADMK leader and party heavyweight in western Tamil Nadu.

He is the second Minister to test positive after Higher EducationMinister K P Anbalagan.

India: UP Cong chief Lallu seeks dismissal of state govt

Lucknow, Jul 8 (PTI) Alleging dismal law and order situation, Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu on Wednesday demanded the dismissal of the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in the state.

There is a jungle raj in the state. The Yogi Adityanath government should be immediately sacked. In this regime, even policemen are not safe, Lallu said in a statement here.

India: RSS members hail C'garh govt's plan to buy cow dung

Raipur, Jul 8 (PTI) Members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have welcomed the Chhattisgarh government's decision to purchase cow dung from cattle rearers, but also demanded procurement of cow urine citing its benefits in farming.

Officer-bearers of 'Gau Gram Swavlamban Abhiyan Chhattisgarh', a drive being run mainly by the RSS workers, on Tuesday met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and handed over a memorandum while hailing 'Gaudhan Nyay Yojna' to be launched from July 21 for procuring cow dung.

India: Ganguly announces cancellation of Asia Cup in September

New Delhi, Jul 8 (PTI) BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday announced cancellation of the Asia Cup T20, which was scheduled to be held in September.

Pakistan had the hosting rights of the six-team continental event but it was expected to be held in the UAE.

"Asia Cup cancel ho chuka hai, jo September me tha (Asia Cup, which was to be held in September, has been cancelled)," Ganguly told 'sports tak' in an instagram live session.
