New Delhi, Jan 14 (PTI) Walmart-owned Flipkart on Tuesday said it is strengthening its supply chain infrastructure by setting up two warehouses (fulfilment centres or FCs) in Haryana, a move that will create about 5,000 jobs locally.

Kolkata, Jan 15 (PTI) Bank unions on Wednesday called for a two-day nationwide strike on January 31 and February 1 after talks over wage revision failed to make headway with the Indian Banks' Association (IBA).

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), which represents nine trade unions, said they will also hold a three-day strike from March 11-13.

Banda (UP) Jan 15 (PTI) A four-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by man at a village in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Tuesday when the girl was taken to the secluded place by a man named Jagdev Khushwaha (23) and was raped, they said.

The girl later narrated the incident to her family, who lodged an FIR in this connection.

The accused has been arrested, the police added.

Kozhikode, Jan 14 (PTI) A video of BJP workers purportedly raising provocative slogans alluding to the 2002 Gujarat riots while taking out a rally in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act, has gone viral, prompting police to register a case.

The rally was taken out at nearby Kuttiyadi on Monday, police said.

In the video some BJP workers, carrying party flags are seen allegedly raising provocative slogans.

Indore (MP), Jan 14 (PTI) A 35-year-old man from Rajasthan was arrested by Indore Police on Tuesday for allegedly posing as a police officer and trying to extort Rs 10 lakh from local BJP MLA Akash Vijayvargiya.

Suresh Ghanchi, the accused, is suspected to be involved in similar crimes in other states too, the police said.

Superintendent of Police Suraj Verma said that Ghanchi called Vijawargiya and introduced himself as city Superintendent of Police (East) Mohammad Yusuf Qureshi.

New Delhi, Jan 14 (PTI) The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded 24 new faces, dropping 15 sitting MLAs, in its list of candidates for the February 8 Delhi assembly elections announced on Tuesday.

The new candidates included Atishi Marlena, Dilip Pandey and Raghav Chadha, who unsuccessfully contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, and five others who recently defected from the Congress.

New Delhi, Jan 14 (PTI) Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif arrived here on Tuesday on a three-day visit to India in the midst of spiralling tension between his country and the US.

Srinagar, Jan 14 (PTI) The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday evening allowed mobile Internet in parts of Jammu region and broadband in hotels, travel establishments and hospitals but only on white-listed websites, official said.

In a three-page order, the home department said additional 400 internet kiosks will be established in Kashmir division.
