India: Raped girl found dead in UP's Mainpuri with strangulation marks

Mainpuri (UP), Mar 12 (PTI) A girl was found dead with strangulation marks in a village under Dannahar police station limits here, police said on Thursday.

The girl had gone missing since Monday and her body was spotted by locals in bushes on Tuesday morning, they said.

Israeli Forces kill Palestinian Boy in West Bank

NABLUS, Palestine, Mar 12 (NNN-WAFA) – A Palestinian teenager was killed, after he was shot by Israeli forces, in clashes in the northern West Bank village of Beita, according to Palestinian medical sources.

Palestinian Ministry of Health declared that Mohammad Hamayel, 15, succumbed to wounds after he was shot in the head, during clashes that broke out Wednesday, between Palestinians and Israeli forces in al-Erma hill, in Beita village near the city of Nablus.

Libya: Haftar forces strike schools in Tripoli

11 Mar 2020; MEMO: Military forces affiliate with Libyan Commander Khalifa Haftar carried out two separate strikes on two different schools in Tripoli, Arabi21 reported yesterday.

The two schools are located in the vicinity of Abu Salim municipality.

Since 4 April 2019, Tripoli has been under continuous attack through the use of artillery bombings and airstrikes by Haftar’s military forces.

India: Delhi riots a pre-planned conspiracy: Manik Sarkar

Agartala, Mar 11 (PTI) Alleging that the violence in Delhi was a "pre-planned conspiracy", former Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar started a drive to raise funds for those affected by the clashes.

Urging people to help the riot survivors, Sarkar raised questions on the role of the administration to tackle the violence that killed at least 53 people.

New Zealand mosque terror survivor says shooting has damaged him for life

CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand (Reuters) - A man shot three times by an armed attacker who stormed a mosque in New Zealand last year says the incident has left him physically and mentally damaged for life.

Sheikh Hasan Rubel, 35, was offering prayers at the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch on March 15 last year when the gunman burst in and started shooting.

The attack, streamed live of Facebook, killed 51 Muslim worshippers and injured dozens of others in New Zealand’s worst mass shooting.

Two bullets ripped through Rubel’s pelvis while another one went through his leg.

Egypt judiciary sentences 112 detainees to life in prison

10 Mar 2020; MEMO: On Monday, the Military Court in Egypt sentenced 112 detainees to life in prison, alleging that they have been affiliated to Hasm Movement that the Egyptian authorities classify as terrorist, and involved in case No. 64 of 2017, Northern Military Prosecution Cairo, known as the Assistant Attorney General or the Case of Hasm Movement (HM).

Hamas condemns ‘oppressive’ trials of Palestinians in Saudi Arabia

10 Mar 2020; MEMO: Hamas yesterday condemned the “oppressive” and “void” trials of Palestinians imprisoned in Saudi Arabia, a statement said.

“With great sorrow and regret Hamas followed up the unfair trials and false charges filed by the Saudi authorities against a number of Palestinians, who have never committed any felony, offence or crime,” the statement said.

Israel forces uproot 400 Palestinian olive trees in Bethlehem

10 Mar 2020; MEMO: Israeli occupation forces yesterday uprooted 400 olive trees in the farms of Wadi Fukin village, west of occupied Bethlehem, Quds Press reported.

Local Palestinian sources reported that the targeted farm belongs to Palestinian farmer Mohamed Al-Harroub.

According to the sources, 800 olive trees and grape vines have been uprooted by settlers over the past two weeks in the farms of Al-Khader neighbourhood, south of Bethlehem.
