 Israeli Forces kill Palestinian

NABLUS, Palestine, Mar 12 (NNN-WAFA) – A Palestinian teenager was killed, after he was shot by Israeli forces, in clashes in the northern West Bank village of Beita, according to Palestinian medical sources.

Palestinian Ministry of Health declared that Mohammad Hamayel, 15, succumbed to wounds after he was shot in the head, during clashes that broke out Wednesday, between Palestinians and Israeli forces in al-Erma hill, in Beita village near the city of Nablus.

Palestinian Red Crescent Society said, 112 Palestinians were injured during the clashes, including 90, who were suffocated from tear gas, 18 shot by rubber coated bullets fired by the Israeli army.

The Red Crescent said that Hamayel was shot by live ammunition. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Dozens of Palestinians held a demonstration at the al-Erma hill, which is a historic site at risk of confiscation by Israel, to expand a nearby Israeli settlement.

The Palestinian demonstrators put up Palestinian flags and called on Israel to stop its plan to take over the area for settlement expansion.

Israeli settlement activity is considered illegal under international law and has been one of the major hurdles to the peace process, stalled since 2014.
