India: 6 people booked for woman's rape in Haryana

Faridabad, Apr 23 (PTI) Five men and a woman have been booked for alleged rape of a security company employee, police here said on Saturday.

The complainant accused her colleague of tricking her and getting raped by five men in 2020, they said.

According to police, the woman allegedly kept silent all these years as the accused had shot a video of her and blackmailed her with it.

India: Man held for raping, blackmailing woman in Haryana

Gurugram, Apr 19 (PTI) A man was arrested for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman by using her objectionable pictures and videos here, police said on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old woman, who is married, in her complaint alleged that the accused, Yoginder alias Kala, a resident of Loni border in Ghaziabad, sent her a WhatsApp message around a year ago and they later became friends.

Around one and half months ago, he asked her to place a video call while she was bathing and made a video clip of it, the woman said in her complaint.

India: Another fake call centre raided in Gurugram; 17 arrested

Gurugram, Apr 7 (PTI) The police and the flying squad raided a fake call centre and arrested 17 employees, while another 149 staff members were let go after issuing a warning, officials said on Thursday.

The call centre' was launched four months ago and was being operated from a three-storeyed building in Udyog Vihar phase-4.

India: 29-year-old raped in Gurugram, accused absconding

Gurugram, Apr 5 (PTI) A 29-year-old woman was raped allegedly by a man living in her locality while she was alone at her home here, police said on Tuesday.

An FIR was registered at Bhondsi police station on Tuesday based on the woman's complaint even as the accused has gone absconding, they said.

The woman, who has two children, was alone at her home on Monday at the time of the incident as her husband had left for duty and the children were in school, according to the complaint filed by her.

India: 4-year-old girl raped in Haryana's Rewari

Rewari, Mar 19 (PTI) A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a drunken youth after being lured to a railway godown on the pretext of being given a toffee in Haryana's Rewari, police said on Saturday.

When the girl's family raised an alarm, people gathered and nabbed the accused and handed him over to the police.

The incident took place on Saturday morning when the victim along with her two-and-half-year-old-brother went to a confectionery shop to buy a toffee.

India: Several BJP, Congress leaders from Haryana join AAP

New Delhi, Mar 14 (PTI) Several BJP and Congress leaders from Haryana on Monday joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here after its stupendous victory in the Punjab Assembly polls.

The BJP's former Gurugram MLA Umesh Agarwal and ex-minister and senior Congress leader Bijendra Singh are among those who joined the AAP, the party said.

INLD leader and former Haryana minister Balbir Singh Saini also joined the AAP at the party headquarters, it said.

India: Man lures girl for car ride, rapes in vehicle in Haryana

Gurugram, Mar 2 (PTI) A man allegedly lured a 16-year-old girl of his village under the Farrukhnagar police station area on the pretext of giving her a ride in his car and raped her in the vehicle, police said on Wednesday.

Accused Sanjay alias Chhota called out the girl sleeping in her room from the window and took her away in his car and dropped her before a school gate in the village, police said.

India: Lab issuing fake Covid reports raided in Gurugram

Gurugram, Feb 8 (PTI) The Haryana Chief Minister's Flying Squad has raided a diagnostic lab accused of preparing fake coronavirus reports, officials said on Tuesday.

The team nabbed a lab assistant while the operator managed to flee.

The lab allegedly charged Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 to issue COVID-19 positive or negative reports.

They also charged Rs 900 for Covid test even as the rate of the test is capped at Rs 299 when a person opts to get it done at a lab.

An FIR in this regard has been registered at DLF Phase-3 police station.

India: Gurugram man sentenced to 10 years for rape

Gurugram, Feb 2 (PTI) A local court on Wednesday sentenced a man to 10 years of imprisonment and imposed on him a fine of Rs 55,000 for raping and threatening a widow in 2019.

Sessions Court Judge Raj Gupta stipulated increase of prison sentence by two years if the convict failed to pay the fine on time.

Naresh, the convict, was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rape, in June 2019 at Sohna Police Station.

India: Fake call centre busted in Gurgaon, 3 arrested

Gurgaon, Feb 2 (PTI) The Haryana Chief Minister's Flying Squad busted a fake call centre here that was allegedly involved in duping US nationals and arrested three of its team leaders, officials said.

A laptop, a hard disk and five mobile phones were also recovered from the call centre, they said.
