Azerbaijan denies presence of Israeli military on its soil

06 Oct 2021; MEMO: Following Iranian claims, the Caucasus country of Azerbaijan denied that the occupation state of Israel has a military presence on its soil, news agencies have reported.

Tehran's claims came on Thursday, following the launch of Iranian military drills at Azerbaijan's border, raising tensions with Baku.

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told Azerbaijan's ambassador that his country would not tolerate Israel's presence or activity "next to our borders" and vowed to take any necessary action.

Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan agree to boost cooperation

28 July 2021; MEMO: Turkish, Azerbaijani and Pakistani parliament speakers accepted the Baku Declaration in a ceremony held at the Azerbaijani Parliament yesterday, Anadolu reports.

Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop and his Pakistani and Azerbaijani counterparts Asad Qaiser and Sahiba Gafarova, signed the declaration following a trilateral meeting.

The declaration strengthens cooperation between the three countries' parliaments and further enhances their political ties, among other issues.

2 Turkey firms to operate 3 Azerbaijan mines

01 June 2021; MEMO: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on Saturday to transfer the operations of the country's three mineral mines to two Turkish companies, Anadolu reports.

The Qasqacay, Elbeydas and Agduzdag mines were transferred for the purpose of study, research, exploration, development and exploitation based on a 30-year contract, the report said.

Azerbaijan appreciates Russia’s role in resolving Nagorno-Karabakh situation, PM says

BAKU, May 20. /TASS/: Baku appreciates Moscow’s role in resolving the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin on Thursday.

"Azerbaijan’s government appreciates the role that Russia played in the 44-day war. We remain committed to the obligations that are enshrined in a statement that the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia and the prime minister of Armenia signed on November 9," Asadov pointed out.

Russia can soon obtain observer status in Non-Aligned Movement — Lavrov

BAKU, May 11. /TASS/: The decision to grant the observer status in the Non-Aligned Movement to Russia is almost ready and will soon be made, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday following talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.

"Russia applied for the observer status in the Non-Aligned Movement under the Azerbaijani chairmanship, this decision is practically ready. It will be made when possible. We are sincerely grateful to our Azerbaijani friends for this support," the minister stressed.

First batch of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine arrives in Azerbaijan

BAKU, May 2. /TASS/: The first batch of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine arrived in Azerbaijan on Sunday, a TASS correspondent reported.

The drugs were delivered to Baku’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

Representatives of Azerbaijan’s Foreign and Health Ministries and Russian Ambassador to Baku Mikhail Bocharnikov took part in the greeting ceremony.

Azerbaijani, Russian FMs Discuss Implementation Of Trilateral Statements On Karabakh

BAKU, Jan 30 (NNN-AZERTAC) – Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, yesterday had a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, the Foreign Ministry told News.Az.

The ministers discussed the current situation in the region, and the implementation of the trilateral statements of Nov 10, 2020, and Jan 11, 2021.

The sides exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral relations, as well as, cooperation within international organisations, including the UN, OSCE, and others.
