CCTV shows Israel's targeting of Gaza health facilities

26 May 2021; MEMO: The Palestinian Health Ministry yesterday released surveillance footage which shows the moment Israeli warplanes targeted a clinic in Gaza last week.

The CCTV footage dated 17 May shows people running in the corridors of Al-Remal Clinic, Gaza's main COVID-19 laboratory, as an Israeli air strike hits neighbouring buildings.

Google suggests Palestine keffiyeh as symbol of terrorism

26 May 2021; MEMO: Social media users yesterday slammed Google for linking the iconic Palestinian scarf the keffiyeh with "terrorism".

A Google search asking 'what scarf do terrorists wear on their head?' brings up images of the Palestinian keffiyeh donned on the head or neck, alongside pictures of terrorists waving the Daesh flag, or even Muslim women wearing the hijab or headscarf.

Pop star Assaf boycotts YouTube over censorship of Palestine content

26 May 2021; MEMO: Palestinian pop star Mohammad Assaf announced that he will not release his latest single We are Palestinians on his YouTube channel following the site's censorship of pro-Palestine content.

Assaf criticised YouTube for fighting pro-Palestinian content, saying: "This song will not be uploaded to my official YouTube channel, because YouTube is fighting Palestinian content during this period for no reason."

India: WhatsApp moves Delhi HC against govt on new social media rules

New Delhi, May 26 (PTI) Facebook-owned WhatsApp has approached the Delhi High Court challenging the new IT rules for social media intermediaries requiring the messaging app to trace chats and make provisions to identify the first originator of information, the company's spokesperson said.

The new Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 were announced by the government on February 25 and it require large social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to comply with the norms by May 25.

India: Farmers observe 'black day' to mark 6 months of stir

New Delhi, May 26 (PTI) Farmers agitating at three Delhi border points raised black flags, shouted anti-government slogans, burnt effigies and took out protest marches as they observed 'black day' on Wednesday to mark the completion of six months of their stir against the three Central agri laws.

A brief ruckus was also reported from the Ghazipur protest site where farmers burnt an effigy of the central government amid heavy police deployment.

USA: Over 500 ex-staffers urge Biden to end Israel's apartheid regime
