The investigative journalism website uncovered the various ways through which the occupation state has courted members of the government over the years, a trend that was denounced as "disgusting" last month by a senior Conservative former minister.

India: Farmers protest at Jewar toll plaza on Yamuna Expressway

Noida (UP), May 28 (PTI) A group of farmers protesting against the central farm laws on Friday staged a demonstration at the Jewar toll plaza here, partially disrupting traffic movement on the Yamuna Expressway, according to officials.

The farmers belonging to the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) had reached Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar on Thursday with an objective to stage the demonstration as part of their plan to carry out similar protests at some other toll plazas in western Uttar Pradesh.

Under US pressure, Cairo adopts new policy with Hamas

American President Joe Biden has asked Egypt to limit Hamas' role in the Gaza Strip and to replace it with the Palestinian Authority, diplomatic sources revealed yesterday.

Samaa TV reported that the diplomatic sources told the London-based Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that the Egyptian media received official directives to stop hailing the Palestinian resistance and to concentrate on Cairo's efforts to rebuild Gaza, as well as international rebuilding initiatives.

US is part of the crisis, they will not be part of any solution: Hamas

27 May 2021; MEMO: The United State will never be part of any solution aimed at bringing an end to the Israel-Palestine crisis, senior Hamas official Dr Mousa Abu Marzouq said yesterday.

"The U.S. is part of the crisis," Abu Marzouq wrote on Twitter. "They provide Isr. [Israel] with killing tools. They will not be part of the solution. Their policies & bias have hurt us."

Israel: Palestinian citizens condemn detentions intended to silence them

27 May 2021; MEMO: The High Follow up Committee for Arabs in Israel called on Wednesday for an end to the government's detention campaign which, it is claimed, is intended to silence them. The committee also demanded the cancellation of indictments against all activists who took part in legitimate political actions, Rai Al-Youm has reported.

Israel rejects US plan to reopen consulate for Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem

27 May 2021; MEMO: The Israeli occupation authorities rejected on Wednesday the US plan to reopen its consulate in East Jerusalem, local media have reported.

Israel's Ambassador in Washington, Gilad Erdan, said that the government firmly opposes the move to reopen the consulate catering for the Palestinians within what he described as Israel's "sovereign territory".

France’s Macron seeks forgiveness over Rwanda genocide

(Reuters) --- French President Emmanuel Macron said he recognised his country’s role in Rwanda’s genocide and hoped for forgiveness at a memorial in Kigali on Thursday, seeking to reset relations after years of Rwandan accusations that France was complicit in the 1994 atrocities.

"Only those who went through that night can perhaps forgive, and in doing so give the gift of forgiveness," Macron said at the Gisozi genocide memorial in Kigali, where more than 250,000 victims are buried.

India: Two more arrested for blocking beds for COVID patients in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, May 27 (PTI) Two more people were arrested in connection with a scam related to blocking beds meant for COVID patients in Bengaluru hospitals including private ones, police said.

The police have identified the accused as Yashwanth and Varun.

With the two arrests, the total number went up to 11, police said.

"Varun worked in the South zone war room helpline, who shared patient numbers with his friend Yashwanth. Yashwanth used to contact the patient and demand money," police said in a statement.

UK: Hundreds call for teacher be sacked to suppress pupils' pro-Palestine solidarity
