Trump gov't would have supported Israel against Gaza: Pompeo

11 June 2021; MEMO: Former US President Donald Trump would have "unconditionally" supported Israel in its latest onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said.

"We, in the previous administration, would have done it differently. We would immediately clarify our support for Israel without reservation," Pompeo said in an interview with Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth.

9 June 2021; MEMO: Israeli officials announced today that they will allow a far-right march through Jerusalem's Old City to go ahead next week, despite cancelling the event yesterday due to fears of renewed tension between the occupation state and Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza. India: Woman dies in UP under suspicious circumstances, in-laws suspected

Muzaffarnagar, Jun 9 (PTI) A woman died under suspicious circumstances at her house in Khedi Sarai village here on Wednesday, police said.

According to police, they have lodged a case on the complaint of her parents, who alleged that she was killed by her in-laws.

Puja's parents told police that she had married Manoj Kumar around two years ago and her in-laws were harassing her.

They told police that Puja's in-laws informed them that she died from coronavirus.

Hamas to US: Israel has to end its occupation of Palestine

09 June 2021; MEMO: Hamas yesterday condemned the latest remarks made by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in which he endorsed the Israeli occupation's "right to defend itself".

"Blinken gives the Israeli occupation a greenlight to continue its aggression on the Palestinian people," Hamas said in a statement.

India: Farmer leaders to meet Mamata for support

Kolkata, Jun 9 (PTI) Farmer leaders led by Rakesh Tikait and Yudhvir Singh of the Bharatiya Kisan Union will be meeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday to elicit her support for the ongoing farmers' stir against the new agriculture laws and for a Minimum Support Price for farm produce.

Banerjee's support for the agitation which has drawn on the farmer community in rural north India, is being viewed as a potential booster which has been flagging in recent weeks.
