Hamas denies Israeli allegations that Gaza hospital used for military purposes

27 October 2023; MEMO: Palestinian group, Hamas, on Friday denied Israeli allegations that it is using a hospital in the northern Gaza Strip for military purposes, Anadolu Agency reports.

"The Israeli claims about Al-Shifa Hospital are false" said Izzat Al-Rishq, a member of Hamas’s Political Bureau.

27 October 2023; MEMO: Israeli security forces restricted young Palestinians from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem for prayers on Friday and deployed in strength across the Old City and beyond to quell any unrest spilling over from the conflict in Gaza, Reuters reports.

In the Occupied West Bank, Israeli troops killed four Palestinians during raids, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, said.

Internet services in Gaza cut off, says Palestinian telecom provider

28 October 2023; MEMO: Communications and internet services in the Gaza Strip were completely cut off on Friday evening amid heavy Israeli bombing of feeder lines, towers and networks, a service provider said, Anadolu Agency reports.

The Palestine Telecommunications Company said in a statement that

"Landline, wireless and internet communications services were completely cut off amid intense Israeli bombing on the lines with the West Bank, and on the towers and networks"

Israeli war criminals committing ‘Holocaust’ in Gaza: MEP

Tehran, IRNA - Member of the European Parliament Manu Pineda has described the Israeli regime as a war criminal, warning about a ‘Holocaust’ happening against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Speaking in front of the Al-Khiam prison in southern Lebanon, Pineda, who is also President of the European Parliament's Delegation for relations with Palestine, said that Israel kills children, women, and journalists, and whatever it does today in Gaza amounts to a war crime; thus, the world must force Israel to pay a price for it.

Turkiye President Erdogan cancels plan to visit Israel over ongoing Gaza war

25 October 2023; MEMO: Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said on Wednesday that he had cancelled a plan to visit Israel in light of the ongoing Gaza conflict, Anadolu Agency reports.

At the Justice and Development (AK) Party’s parliamentary group meeting in Ankara, Erdogan said that before 7 October, when the conflict erupted, he had planned to visit Israel but then cancelled his plans.

Algerian delegation walks out as Israeli envoy speaks at UN

25 October 2023; MEMO: Algeria’s delegation to the UN walked out as the Israeli representative began to give his speech yesterday. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria Ahmed Attaf left the hall, followed by other representatives of Algiers. Delegations from a number of other countries followed suit.

Struggle against foreign occupation cannot be equated with terrorism, Pakistan tells UN

25 October 2023; MEMO: Condemning the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, Pakistan told the UN that a struggle against foreign occupation cannot be equated with terrorism.

During a high-level debate at the UN Security Council over the situation in the Middle East on Tuesday, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, said that his country condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Gaza death toll nears that of Srebrenica genocide; Euro-Med

26 October 2023; MEMO: The estimated number of Palestinians have been killed or are missing under the rubble as a result of the unprecedented Israeli military attack on the Gaza Strip now exceeds the number of people killed in the Srebrenica massacre, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said yesterday.

Some 6,734 Palestinians—including 2,812 children—have been killed since 7 October and about 1,755 more are missing beneath the rubble of their homes, the rights group said.

Spanish minister calls on Europe to sever ties with Israel

26 October 2023; MEMO: Spain’s acting Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, called on European countries to sever diplomatic relations with Israel and impose an arms embargo and economic sanctions.

Belarra said in a post on X yesterday, that it is still possible to stop the “genocide” and also called for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and all other political leaders, who bombed civilians in the Gaza Strip, to be brought before the International Criminal Court.

Brazil slams Israel’s war on Gaza as ‘genocide’

27 October 2023; MEMO: Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva slammed Israel’s war on the besieged Gaza Strip as a “genocide”.

In a meeting held at the Planalto presidential palace in the capital, Brasilia, da Silva said: “What is happening is not a war. It is a genocide that led to the killing of nearly 2,000 children who had nothing to do with this war. They are the victims of this war.”
