Pakistan Reports 313 New COVID-19 Cases, Four More Deaths

ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan recorded 313 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total tally to 1,281,872, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), said today.

A total of 28,659 people have died from COVID-19 in Pakistan, including four deaths newly reported, said the NCOC, the department leading Pakistan’s campaign against the pandemic.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province has been the worst hit, with a total of 474,058 cases, followed by eastern Punjab province with 442,422 infections.

India: Keep rail tracks free from defecation: NGT

New Delhi, Nov 21 (PTI) The National Green Tribunal has directed the Railway to ensure that tracks are not used for defecation and waste water disposal from habitation nearby.

A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel said private agencies hired for catering or for sanitary management should not dispose waste other than at designated places.

Lucknow, Nov 20 (PTI) The Congress on Saturday observed "Kisan Vijay Diwas" in Uttar Pradesh, terming the repeal of Centre's three farm laws as the victory of farmers' struggle and paid homage to those who lost their lives during the agitation.

The party observed 'Kisan Vijay Diwas' all over the state to mark the victory of the farmers' struggle against the three laws, a party spokesman said.

India: RSS misleads people: Rajasthan CM Gehlot

Jaipur, Nov 20 (PTI) Accusing the RSS of misleading people, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday dared it to merge itself with the BJP and come out in open to fight on the basis of ideology.

He said the RSS calls itself a cultural organisation and claims no interest in politics but the RSS members mislead people and support the BJP.

India: Cooperative bank director quits BJP, joins RLD

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Nov 21 (PTI) A senior official of a district cooperative bank resigned from the BJP and joined the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) here.

Sandeep Malik, director of Muzaffarnagar District Cooperative Bank and a former Zila Panchayat member, resigned from the primary membership of the saffron party and joined the RLD.

Malik made the announcement on his political move during a rally by RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary at Baghra here on Saturday.

India: Woman raped in captivity for three days in UP

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Nov 21 (PTI) A 24-year-old woman was allegedly held captive, beaten up and raped for three days here, police said on Sunday.

According to the complaint lodged by the woman with the police, she was forcibly taken to a hotel by a man where she was made to consume beverages laced with sedatives and raped for three days, they said.

The woman also alleged that the man beat her up whenever she tried to defend herself, police said.

They said the woman and the man knew each other.

Heavy rains in southern Indian state kill 17, dozens missing

HYDERABAD, India (AP) — At least 17 people have died and dozens are reported missing in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh after days of heavy rains, authorities said Saturday.

The state has been hit by intense torrents since Thursday, sparking massive floods in at least five districts.

The death toll rose to 17 late Friday night after three people were killed when a building collapsed, police said. Ten people trapped under the debris were rescued but two are still missing.
