Pakistan oil companies collaborate with Saudi Aramco for $10bn refinery project

27 July 2023; MEMO: Four leading Pakistani oil companies will join hands with Saudi Arabia's state-owned Aramco for a $10 billion Greenfield refinery project at Pakistan's strategic Gwadar Port, Anadolu Agency reports.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Pakistani and the Saudi companies in the capital, Islamabad, on Thursday, said a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum.

In a protest, demanding Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina’s resignation, the opposition protestors gathered in the morning to block traffic on key arterial routes in the capital.

Television footage showed the police used rubber bullets and teargas to disperse the gatherings and drove the protesters away from the streets.

Afghan state news agency launches Chinese service

KABUL, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's state-run Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) has launched Chinese service and begun releasing news in the Chinese language, the state media outlet said on Sunday.

The Chinese news service, according to the BNA, began in July and the media outlet releases Afghanistan's domestic news, China-related news and world news in the Chinese language regularly.
