Canadian Sikhs stage protests against Indian government over murder

TORONTO/OTTAWA, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Canadian Sikhs staged small protests outside India's diplomatic missions on Monday, a week after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said there may be a link between New Delhi and the murder of a Sikh separatist advocate in British Columbia.

Trudeau a week ago stood in parliament to say that domestic intelligence agencies were actively pursuing credible allegations tying New Delhi's agents to the shooting of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar, 45, in June.

US must respond to Hersh's investigation into Nord Stream sabotage — Russian diplomat

The Armenians of Karabakh - part of Azerbaijan that had been beyond Baku's control since the dissolution of the Soviet Union - began fleeing this week after their forces were routed in a lightning operation by Azerbaijan's military.

Russian Black Sea commander shown on video call after Ukraine said it killed him

MOSCOW, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Admiral Viktor Sokolov, the commander of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, was shown on Russian state television on Tuesday attending a defence leaders' meeting remotely, a day after Ukrainian special forces said they had killed him.

In video and photographs released by the defence ministry, Sokolov was shown as one of several fleet commanders on video apparently joining an in-person meeting of Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and other army chiefs, although not speaking. It was not clear when the video was filmed.

Russia: Putin, Raisi discuss smoothly integrating Iran into BRICS — Kremlin

MOSCOW, September 26. /TASS/: Tehran’s full-scale involvement in BRICS’ activities was the focus of a telephone call between Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Ebrahim Raisi of Iran, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.

"Ebrahim Raisi gave thanks for supporting Iran’s application for BRICS membership. The sides discussed steps to ensure Iran’s smooth integration into the association’s full-format activities taking into account Russia’s presidency in 2024," it said.

The phone call was initiated by the Iranian side.

Russian drone strikes on Odesa region hit port area and cut ferry service to Romania

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia struck the Black Sea region of Odesa in a drone barrage that damaged a warehouse, charred dozens of trucks and injured two drivers in fiery explosions that led to the suspension of the ferry service between Romania and Ukraine, officials said Tuesday.

Video shot from the Romanian side of the Danube River showed rapid bursts of Ukrainian anti-aircraft fire streaking through the night sky followed by two orange fireballs exploding near the port area. Photos showed burned-out frames of trucks.

Iran’s Mar-Sept Foreign Tourist Arrivals Climbed 38 Percent Y-O-Y

Man Arrested In Australia After Overnight Shooting Wounded Two

SYDNEY, Sept 26 (NNN-AAP) – Police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW), confirmed today that, a man has been arrested, after an overnight shooting in the city of Lake Macquarie, which injured two people, last week.

According to NSW Police Force, at about 12:45 p.m. local time yesterday, a 31-year-old man was arrested in Wallsend, a western suburb of Newcastle.

Police also located two firearms during the execution of a search warrant, which were seized for further forensic examination.

Kuwait: Hackers breach US Pentagon website

26 September 2023; MEMO: A Kuwaiti criminal court revealed yesterday that it is looking into a case against a Kuwaiti national who hacked into the US Pentagon website, local media reported.

Al Rai newspaper reported that the hacker is a 28-year-old man, adding that his actions put the country’s ties with a key ally at risk.
