USA: China to firmly uphold UN-centered int'l system, says envoy

UNITED NATIONS, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese envoy said Monday that China will steadfastly support the international system centered around the United Nations.

"China works tirelessly to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, and firmly upholds the UN-centered international system," Dai Bing, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, told the opening of the main session of the Fifth Committee of the 78th UN General Assembly, which deals with internal UN administrative and budgetary matters.

Iran Supports Nagorno-Karabakh’s Return To Azerbaijan

TEHRAN, Oct 3 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, said yesterday, the country has always supported the return of the Nagorno-Karabakh region to Azerbaijan.

He made the remarks at a weekly press conference in the Iranian capital Tehran, when commenting on Iran’s positions towards the latest developments in the Caucasus region.

Kanaani said, Iran has repeatedly and clearly announced that, it supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Armenia, but does not approve of settling disputes through making geopolitical changes.

North Korea blames US for 'grave terrorist' act against Cuban embassy

SEOUL, Oct 1 (Reuters) - North Korea accused the United States on Sunday of letting a "terrorist" act against Cuba take place on U.S. soil, saying a recent attack against the Cuban embassy in Washington was the result of "despicable anti-Cuban" U.S. intentions.

The United States has neglected to ensure the safety of the Cuban mission and was only keen to put countries it dislikes, such as Cuba, on its list of state sponsors of terrorism, a spokesman of North Korea's foreign ministry said in a statement.

USA: Senior Senate Democrat threatens to block military aid to Egypt on human rights grounds
