Iran says nuclear negotiations continuing through relevant channels

TEHRAN, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday that negotiations on the revival of a 2015 nuclear deal are continuing through relevant channels at both sides' request.

Nasser Kanaani made the remarks at a weekly press conference without further elaborating on "relevant channels," according to the official news agency IRNA.

Kanaani added Iran's policy toward the nuclear issue is clear, and the country is acting within the same political framework.

Shooting attack in SW Iran kills 1, injures 2

TEHRAN, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and another two were injured on Saturday morning in a shooting attack at an oil and gas company in the southwestern Iranian province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported.

The attack was carried out by an armed employee of Gachsaran Oil and Gas Producing Company in the county of Gachsaran, who broke into the company's chemical office and started shooting at the staff, the report added.

The attacker was arrested by police as he was fleeing the scene, it added.

Iran says it foiled cyber-attack on Central Bank

Anonymous and other global hacking groups threatened in October to launch cyber-attacks on Iranian institutions and officials in support of anti-government protests and to bypass internet censorship there.

Iran, Qatar central bankers call for boosting banking ties

TEHRAN, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- The governors of the central banks of Iran and Qatar have called for boosting banking relations between the two countries, Tasnim News Agency reported Friday.

The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) made the announcement on Thursday after a meeting between the newly-appointed governor of CBI Mohammad Reza Farzin and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani in Qatar's capital Doha.

Russia, Iran companies sign memorandums on space launch services

05 Jan 2023; MEMO: Russia's Space Corporation, on Thursday, said it signed memorandums with two Iranian companies on launch services, Anadolu News Agency reports.

"As a result of international events, conferences and exhibitions organised with the participation of Roscosmos and enterprises of the rocket and space industry … Memorandums of cooperation in the field of launch services were signed with the Iranian companies SAHAB and SpaceOmid", a Roscosmos statement said.

Iran Blasted Israeli Minister’s “Sacrilegious” Visit To Al-Aqsa Compound

TEHRAN, Jan 4 (NNN-IRNA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry, yesterday, condemned the visit by a far-right Israeli minister to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem as “sacrilege” of the holy site and violation of international law.

Such “sacrilegious acts” also amount to an affront to the values and sanctities of the world’s Muslims, the ministry’s spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, said, in a statement published on the ministry’s website, warning against the “adventurist and provocative” actions of the new hardline Israeli government.

Iran judiciary indicts two France nationals and Belgian for espionage

03 Jan 2023; MEMO: Iran has indicted two French nationals and a Belgian for espionage and working against the country's national security, the semi-official Student News Network quoted a judiciary spokesperson as saying on Tuesday, Reuters reports.

The agency did not give the names of the three or say where or when they were indicted.

Iran FM meets Saudi counterpart/ Saudi Arabia ready to resume talks

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a meeting on Wednesday with his Saudi counterpart on the sidelines of the Baghdad II Conference in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian wrote on his official twitter account, “I attended the conference to reaffirm my own support for Iraq. On the sidelines of the conference, I had an opportunity to hold meetings with certain counterparts, including from Oman, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia”.
