Iran frees 2 French nationals in good faith, based on law, regulations

Tehran (ISNA) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani has reacted to the reports regarding Iran’s move to free two French nationals.

Kanaani said, “In response to the requests of the French side at different levels and following the talks held including the negotiations between Catherine Colonna and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Foreign Ministers of France and Iran on Friday, the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran freed two French nationals, with one of the them having dual Irish-French nationality”.

America commits widespread crimes against humanity: Gharibabadi

Tehran (ISNA) – The secretary of Iran's High Council for Human Rights Kazem Gharibabadi said that the atrocities of the US against nations are unprecedented during the human history.

Kazem Gharibabadi declared, "In domestic arena, people should know that what crimes America has committed against us because its crimes have directly targeted our people. We should remind repeatedly this issue and the matter is nothing to do with our macro policies with the US. The one who commits crimes should be highlighted and we would go after with them".

Iran, Saudi Arabia trade win-win for both, to benefit region: Minister

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Economy Minister, Ehsan Khandouzi has said that expanded trade ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia's would a win-win situation for the two countries while it will benefit the entire West Asia region.

Khandouzi made the remarks on the sidelines of the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, saying that Iran's policy is to strengthen bilateral ties with neighboring countries.

Arbitrator in $32bn gas dispute against Iran dismissed: Official

Tehran, IRNA - Iran’s vice-president for legal affairs has announced that Laurent Aynès, president of an international tribunal hearing a $32 billion gas dispute between the UAE-based Crescent Petroleum and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), has been dismissed from the case.

Mohammad Dehghan on Saturday called the removal of the arbitrator a great victory for Iran in the case, and said that the change in the arbitration team will have a significant impact on the fair and just review of the case.

Iran Retakes Oil Tanker “Illegally” Used By Foreign Firm For Five Years

TEHRAN, May 13 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran has taken back a 10,000-tonne oil tanker that had been “illegally” used by a foreign company for five years, an Iranian judicial official said, yesterday.

Mojtaba Qahremani, chief justice of the southern Iranian province of Hormuzgan, identified the oil tanker as “Purity,” reported Mizan news agency of the Iranian judiciary.

Iran, Iraq Signed Deal On Oil Industry Cooperation

TEHRAN, May 12 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran and Iraq have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), on cooperation in implementing oil industry projects, the Shana News Agency, affiliated to the Iranian Oil Ministry, reported yesterday.

The deal was signed by Iranian Oil Minister, Javad Owji, and his Iraqi counterpart, Hayan Abdel-Ghani, at the end of a meeting, attended by the two ministers, as well as, Iraq’s Prime Minister, Shia’ al-Sudani, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad on Wednesday night, the report said.

Iran says releases Irish national on "consular, humanitarian" grounds

TEHRAN, May 12 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian Embassy in Dublin said that an Irish national imprisoned in Iran has been pardoned and released on "consular and humanitarian" grounds.

The Iranian Embassy announced in a post on its Twitter page on Thursday evening the Irish national's release was a result of "constructive diplomatic engagement between Iran and Ireland," identifying the Irish citizen as Bernard Phelan.

Iranian FM says Saudi Arabia appoints new envoy to Tehran

TEHRAN, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday that Saudi Arabia has appointed its new ambassador to Tehran, according to the official IRNA news agency.

Amir-Abdollahian revealed that Riyadh had informed the Iranian government about the appointment of the new envoy on Tuesday. He also expressed Iran's commitment to reciprocate by soon appointing its ambassador to Saudi Arabia and introducing him to the Saudi government.
